THE ROLE

As Indie Campers expands globally, we’re facing exciting technical challenges. Your role will be crucial in ensuring our platform’s performance and reliability as we scale.

You’ll be part of the Technology Team, responsible for developing and maintaining the products that power our platform. We currently work with a stack that includes AWS, Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Vue.js + Nuxt, and Postgres. However, we’re in the process of evolving our backend to an event-driven service architecture with CQRS, and shifting our front-end stack to React + Next.js.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll design, build, and optimize the systems that support our global user base. You’ll have the opportunity to solve complex problems, work with the latest technologies, and directly contribute to the growth of our platform. If you’re passionate about coding, enjoy working with cutting-edge tech, and are excited by the idea of building a scalable platform used by travelers worldwide, this is the perfect role for you.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

• Engage with the business and gather feedback from stakeholders.
• Collaborate with developers to design and implement algorithms and flowcharts.
• Own your code from end-to-end, writing clean, reusable, and efficient code, and deploying it to production.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and improve existing code.
• Proactively recommend and execute system improvements.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Actively participate in SCRUM events.
• Have sufficient knowledge of AWS services, Docker containers, Git/GitHub, and deployment pipelines.
• Communicate fluently in Portuguese and/or English.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

As a Backender:

• 6+ years of experience in product development.
• A university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the entire web development lifecycle—from design to deployment.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Java, Go, Python, Rust, Ruby, or Node.js. Experience with TypeScript is a bonus.
• Strong experience with REST APIs and message brokers such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, and SNS/SQS.
• Capability to integrate and fine-tune databases like Postgres and Redis.
• A deep understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture, Microservices, event-driven systems, and CQRS patterns.
