Senior Backend Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Reporting Team. This role involves designing and building scalable API solutions, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to impactful projects in a collaborative, distributed team environment. This position reports to the Team/Tech Lead.

In this role, you’ll get to: 

• Design and implement robust REST and GraphQL APIs for scalable and efficient integrations.

• Work with ORMs to manage complex database interactions effectively.

• Utilize AWS services such as Lambda to build and maintain cloud applications.

• Write and maintain comprehensive automated tests to ensure code quality.

• Partner with product teams, asking the right questions and providing well-thought-out design solutions

• Conduct code reviews to uphold high development standards.

• Mentor junior engineers, fostering technical growth and a culture of continuous learning.

• Participate in design reviews and contribute to key architectural decisions.

Who you are and what you’ll need for this position: 

• 5+ years of experience in Backend development with proficiency in Node.js, Python, REST, and GraphQL API design.

• Skilled in working with AWS services like Lambda for cloud-native development.

• Skilled in SQL databases and adept at using ORMs to simplify database operations.

• Good knowledge of best backend architecture practices 

• Deep knowledge of how our used technology stack works and interoperates

• Experienced in writing automated tests to maintain robust and reliable code.

• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

• Quick to learn and adopt new technologies and tools.

• Excellent English communication skills

• Strong work ethic and customer focus

• Comfortable leveraging AI tools like GitHub Copilot to enhance productivity.
