Job Description
- As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll join a growing global team at Wix, shaping the future of eCommerce. You’ll develop and maintain the core selling and order management capabilities for all Wix verticals. Working in a highly distributed, cutting-edge environment, you’ll play a central role in building scalable, resilient systems that handle millions of requests per minute.
- Build and maintain backend systems to process 1.5 million API requests and 400,000 events per minute
- Design, implement and optimize scalable and resilient systems with an API-first approach
- Solve high-scale technical challenges in a distributed microservices environment (~100 microservices)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality across the platform
- Lead technical initiatives to improve system performance, reliability and scalability
- Mentor and guide junior engineers to help them reach their full potential
- Write clean, test-driven code, ensuring high-quality deployments to production for millions of users
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience as a backend engineer
- Possess an in-depth understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and SOLID principles
- Background in design, with passion for Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodology
- Knowledge and interest in microservice architectures
- Actively up-to-date with industry trends and developments
- Team player committed to the success of the team, with proven ability to mentor and guide
