At Cloudinary we help thousands of websites and mobile applications to manage billions of images and videos, servicing thousands of enterprise customers. Cloudinry generates over $100M ARR. The Billing team is responsible for Cloudinary’s billing methodology and monetization implementation. Since we are dealing with customer billing, the challenge is to build a reliable system that collects usage, and prices correctly and charges accordingly while keeping the flexibility for different price experiments and different charging models. We are seeking an experienced backend engineer to join our billing team to build our full quote-to-cash solution while integrating with 3rd party systems like Recurly, Netsuite, and Salesforce to process millions of dollars monthly.
As Part Of Your Role, You Will
- Contribute to architecting and strategy, design and develop highly-available management systems, with scalable distributed system considerations and APIs
- Lead solutions for business issues while keeping in mind robustness, security, and monitoring
- Aim to be a focal point for company-wide source of knowledge
- Lead by example, mentor peers, and ensure high standards of code quality
- You will work with product managers and business partners to frame problems within the business and product context.
Your Qualifications
- 10+ years of strong back-end capabilities - engineering leadership while working on a cloud-based, microservice architecture
- Experience B.Sc. in Computer Science, similar field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Outstanding backend development skills with a passion for fast development of high-quality software
- Experience in web-technologies
- Profound experience working with databases
- Cloud experience (AWS is a plus)
- Advantage: experience in developing systems in FinTech / Monetization / Billing
