We are looking for a talented and passionate Senior Backend Developer to join our core engineering team and play a pivotal role in building SolarEdge’s next-generation software platform.

As a key member of the team, you will design and develop cutting-edge backend solutions that power mission-critical SolarEdge applications at scale. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and is motivated by creating impactful products used by thousands of customers worldwide.

The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering expertise with a natural curiosity for data and innovation. You are comfortable operating at the intersection of backend development, data-driven thinking, and emerging AI/ML technologies, while taking full ownership of solutions from design through production.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable backend systems for mission-critical applications.
• Build robust microservices-based architectures that deliver high availability, low latency, and exceptional reliability.
• Write clean, efficient, testable, and maintainable code that meets the highest engineering standards.
• Drive software development from concept to production, including architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing optimization.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, architects, data teams, and fellow engineers to deliver innovative solutions.
• Ensure compliance with technical specifications, security standards, and best practices.
• Prepare and manage software releases, supporting continuous delivery and operational excellence.
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement long-term solutions.
• Contribute to a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and engineering excellence.

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject      
• Over 8 years of experience in Backend development (Java)
• SQL and data access optimization- Solid understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL)
• Experience in the Spring Framework

Advantages:

• Experience with Kafka is a major advantage
• Experience with event-driven systems, distributed systems and/or data-systems is a major advantage
• Experience with Docker, K8S, Git, GitLab, is a major advantage
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
• Vertica, Apache Airflow, and Apache NiFi advantage
