The Ask:

The Senior Cloud Engineer is responsible for identifying the most optimal cloud-based solutions for our clients and maintaining cloud infrastructure in accordance with best practices and company security policies. They will also be responsible for deployment, maintenance, and monitoring of cloud systems, educating teams on new cloud initiatives, and ensuring the security of the cloud infrastructure. They will collaborate with dev and security teams to develop, implement, optimize, and maintain cloud-based solutions.

Who You Are:

The Senior Cloud Engineer implements and manages cloud-based systems. They deploy cloud solutions, migrate existing on-premises applications to the cloud, debug, and maintain cloud solutions. They have excellent troubleshooting skills, stay current with industry trends, and are a team player.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Collaborating with engineering and development teams to evaluate, identify, make recommendations, and deploy optimal cloud solutions.
  • Identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement with existing cloud systems.
  • Developing, documenting, and sharing repeatable operating procedures related to Azure cloud services.
  • Educating and mentoring junior team members.
  • Ensuring efficient functioning of data storage and processing functions in accordance with company security policies and security best practices.
  • Identifying, analyzing, and resolving infrastructure vulnerabilities and deployment issues.

Requirements:

  • Passion for technology and continuous learning
  • 5+ years of IT infrastructure experience
  • 3+ years of system engineering and deployment experience
  • 3+ years of Azure cloud computing experience
  • Degree in computer science or a similar field
  • Deep understanding of datacenter and cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with on-premises to cloud migration and application modernization, including hands-on experience with Azure Migrate, Data Migration Assistant, App Service Migration Assistant, or other cloud assessment and migration tools
  • Hands-on experience with Azure infrastructure deployment and administration, including deployment of VNETs, private endpoints, virtual machines, app services, Azure SQL, SQL MI, blob and file storage, AKS
  • Hands-on Windows and Linux systems deployment and administration experience
  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD concepts and tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub)
  • Strong infrastructure as code (IaC), automation, and scripting skills (Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell, Ansible, Python)
  • Hands-on experience with identity management (IAM, SAML, Active Directory Domain Services, Entra ID)
  • Deep understanding of cloud cost control and optimization
  • Ability to produce detailed architectural and operational documentation
  • Advanced troubleshooting, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to participate in meetings and lead technical working sessions effectively and professionally
  • Data platform, Fabric, PowerBI experience a plus
  • AWS experience a plus
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate Certification preferred, other Microsoft or Amazon certifications are a plus
  • **Remote position (Must reside in AR,FL,GA,IL,KS,MA,NC,NH,NJ,OH,OK,OR,PA,TX, ,VA to work 100% Remote)
