Build the cloud services that help people access better sleep health.
At Resmed, every line of code can contribute to improving lives. As a Senior AWS Engineer, you'll join a collaborative engineering team developing cloud services that support OSA Pathways within our growing Digital Health business. Working in a modern AWS environment, you'll help build secure, scalable backend services that support the journey from sleep-health screening through diagnosis and treatment pathways.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys solving complex backend challenges, improving system reliability, and helping teams deliver high-quality software. You'll work closely with engineers, product managers, architects, designers, QA, security, and data teams to bring meaningful digital health solutions to market. Your work will directly influence how critical backend services support assessment, consent management, analytics, partner integrations, and provider workflows while ensuring quality, observability, and long-term maintainability.
The role is offered as a hybrid position with 2–3 days per week onsite in our Dublin, Sandyford office.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, test, and maintain reliable, scalable, and secure backend software applications.
- Own complex features from solution design through production release.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, architects, designers, QA, security, and data teams to deliver solutions that meet user and business needs.
- Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions while contributing ideas that improve testability, performance validation, and risk assessment.
- Contribute to technical decision-making in cloud-native and serverless environments.
- Balance reliability, security, privacy, cost, and maintainability when designing solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and promote engineering best practices across the team.
- Mentor fellow engineers through code reviews, pair programming, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.
- Leverage AI-powered engineering tools to improve developer productivity, automated testing, AWS infrastructure management, and operational documentation.
- Investigate and resolve software defects, integration challenges, performance bottlenecks, and production incidents.
- Drive continuous improvement across development processes, delivery pipelines, observability, operational readiness, and release quality.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline involving coding.
- Strong proficiency in Python, including object-oriented design, testing practices, typing, and maintainable service design.

- Experience using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience designing backend capabilities including APIs, secure storage solutions, analytics services, and workflow integrations.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, authentication and authorization mechanisms, and microservices architecture.
- Experience working with event-driven architectures and messaging technologies such as SQS and SNS.
- Experience with both NoSQL and relational database technologies, including practical data modelling approaches.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Git, Docker, and monitoring or logging platforms.
- Experience improving software reliability through observability, performance analysis, incident investigation, or security remediation.
