Job Title: Senior AWS Cloud Engineer
Location: Illinois ( Onsite )
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and support scalable AWS cloud solutions while working directly with clients and business stakeholders. This role requires strong technical depth combined with excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage secure, scalable AWS cloud infrastructure
- Architect highly available and fault-tolerant AWS solutions
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation)
- Manage AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, S3, EKS, Lambda, and CloudWatch
- Implement security best practices, compliance controls, and cost optimization
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex infrastructure issues
- Support production environments and participate in on-call rotations
Client-Facing Responsibilities
- Act as a technical point of contact for clients on AWS infrastructure and cloud architecture
- Gather client requirements and translate them into technical designs and solutions
- Lead client discussions for architecture reviews, cloud migrations, and optimization initiatives
- Provide technical guidance, best practices, and recommendations to clients
- Participate in client meetings, status calls, and technical workshops
- Assist with incident response and root cause analysis involving client environments
- Create and present technical documentation and architecture diagrams for clients
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure client expectations and SLAs are met
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of cloud engineering experience with strong AWS focus
- Proven experience in client-facing or consulting roles
- Deep knowledge of AWS networking, security, and core services
- Strong experience with Terraform or CloudFormation
- Linux administration and scripting experience (Bash, Python)
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)
- Experience with Kubernetes / Amazon EKS
- Experience in MSP or managed services environments
- Experience presenting technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders
