Meaningful Work From Day One:
Manage the needs of the Cooperage organization through supporting the sites as a technical resource focused on automation and innovation of the woodworking process. This role will not only provide technical expertise for existing and future automation but will also focus on training and documentation to support the site-based maintenance teams. This position will need to communicate with both plant and corporate leadership to ensure sites are getting the tactical support needed while also maintaining a focus on the strategic direction of the organization.
What You Can Expect:
• Responsible for the high-level technical support for the cooperage’s maintenance teams including but not limited to, hands on training, process documentation, OEM interface, and parts support.
• Design and implement system upgrades for wood processing equipment.
• Support capital projects through technical support during the concept, design, and implementation phases.
• Ensures Brown-Forman Global Production safety and compliance standards are adhered to on all jobs.
• Interface with plant managers and operating and maintenance personnel to provide hands‐on situational troubleshooting expertise, technical leadership, and project management expertise on plant
project initiatives and operational improvement opportunities
• Provide technical engineering consultation, assistance, and leadership to plant personnel and staff departments regarding controls and instrumentation, risk management and safety integration,
process monitoring systems, and HMI (Human Machine Interface) applications
• Lead the development of new or improved PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and computer controls, process monitoring and production data recording, and HMI systems. Initiate and champion
the applications of beneficial technologies into plant operations.
• This position will be on the 3rd shift with hours 9:30pm - 6:30am.
What You Bring to the Table:
• Bachelors or Equivalent in Engineering or; Associates degree and 4 years of demonstrated applicable experience in technical engineering, service/support roles within an industrial environment.
• Experience in industrial control software systems and application, preferably in Siemens & Beckhoff platforms, with an emphasis on ability to adapt and learn additional platforms.
• Experience with servo motion controls
• Experience with scripting languages
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Works effectively in diverse work groups.
• Demonstrated equipment/process troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with networking and computing communications protocols
• Fluid in office software applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, email)
What Makes You Unique:
• Virtualization, Hypervisors, ESXi, Vcenter
• Familiarity with OT network concepts, implementation, design and management.
• Experience with Rexroth, Schneider, and/or KEB Servo systems
• Basic financial aptitude.
• Experience working in a wood processing facility or cooperage.
