We are looking for a highly technical, highly creative Senior Automation & API Engineer who loves making systems talk to each other, building things that didn’t exist yesterday, sell stuff, put butts in seats for workshops, and occasionally making the rest of us say:
“Wait. You can DO that?”
This is not a traditional IT position. And it’s definitely not a “here’s a ticket, please code exactly what we described” kind of job.
We want a builder, inventor, experimenter, and creative problem solver who can take a business problem, or sometimes just a half-baked “Wouldn’t it be amazing if…?” and figure out how to turn it into something real.
You’ll work heavily with APIs, AI, agentic automations, GoHighLevel, Replit, Lovable, Hermes agents, and whatever new tool appeared on the internet approximately 14 minutes ago.
We move fast. Technology moves faster. We want someone who thinks that’s fun. We help people, to help them we need them show up, so we build tech that helps us help people.
What You’ll DoYou’ll design, build, connect, automate, experiment, and occasionally perform minor technological miracles.
You’ll:
- Build applications, landing pages, marketing automations, internal tools, dashboards, prototypes, and utilities using Replit, Lovable, and similar AI-powered development platforms
- Build sophisticated integrations with GoHighLevel (GHL)
- Work extensively with the GoHighLevel API
- Design and build agentic automations that can reason, make decisions, use tools, take actions, and move work forward
- Build and orchestrate AI agents and multi-agent workflows
- Build and experiment with Hermes or other agents
- Connect AI agents to APIs, databases, CRMs, internal systems, and external tools
- Create systems where agents can perform useful business work, not just chat
- Build and consume REST APIs
- Create and manage webhooks
- Work with OAuth, API keys, tokens, permissions, and authentication
- Design workflows that move data reliably between multiple systems
- Integrate AI models and AI services into real business processes
- Build custom solutions when the thing we want doesn’t conveniently exist
- Prototype ideas quickly and figure out what’s possible
- Turn repetitive human work into intelligent automated workflows
- Troubleshoot integrations and figure out why something decided to stop working at 2:17 Tuesday afternoon
- Monitor automations so they don’t quietly go rogue
- Document what you build so nobody has to perform digital archaeology six months later
- Constantly look at how we work and ask:
“Could we make this smarter, faster, simpler, or automatic?”
You Need to Be Very Good at APIsLike, actually good at APIs.
You should be able to open API documentation you’ve never seen before and think:
“Okay. I see how we’re going to do this.”
You should be comfortable with:
- REST APIs
- JSON
- Webhooks
- OAuth 2.0
- API authentication
- GET / POST / PUT / PATCH / DELETE
- Rate limits
- Pagination
- Error handling
- Logging
- Databases
- Data mapping and transformation
- Git/version control
- Testing
- Debugging
- Integration architecture
We don’t just want someone who knows how to call an LLM.
We are interested in the next layer: AI systems that actually do things.
You should be excited about building agentic workflows where AI can reason through a task, access information, call tools and APIs, make decisions, interact with business systems, trigger actions, and hand work between agents and humans.
Experience with AI agents, Hermes agents, MCP, tool calling, structured outputs, memory/context systems, RAG, orchestration, and multi-agent systems is highly valuable.
More important: you’re actively experimenting.
If agentic AI is changing this month, you’re probably already playing with whatever changed.
Replit, Lovable & AI-Powered DevelopmentWe actively use Replit, Lovable, and tools like them to move from idea to working software very quickly.
We’re not looking for someone who believes there’s only one “proper” way to build software.
We’re looking for someone who understands software deeply enough to use these new tools creatively and intelligently.
You should be comfortable taking an idea from:
“What if we could…”
to prototype…
to working application…
without needing a six-month development roadmap and seventeen meetings about the roadmap.
GoHighLevelDeep GoHighLevel experience is extremely valuable.
And we don’t mean knowing where the Funnel button is.
We need someone who understands, or can quickly master, the technical guts of GHL:
APIs, webhooks, contacts, opportunities, calendars, workflows, custom fields, tags, pipelines, forms, conversations, attribution, automations, and integrations with external applications.
We want to push what GHL can do by connecting it to the rest of our technology ecosystem.
Creativity Matters a LotImagine if an engineering position, got married with a marketing assistant position, and they had an child.
But creativity is one of the most important qualifications.
We don’t always know exactly what the solution should look like.
Sometimes we’ll bring you a problem.
Sometimes we’ll bring you an idea.
Sometimes we’ll bring you something that sounds slightly insane.
Your job isn’t simply to ask:
“What do you want me to build?”
It’s to think with us:
“What COULD we build?”
We want someone who sees possibilities other people don’t see.
Someone who can combine existing tools in unexpected ways.
Someone who experiments.
Someone who prototypes.
Someone who understands that sometimes the most elegant solution isn’t more software—it’s connecting three things that already exist in a clever way.
The Person We’re Looking ForYou’re the person who hears:
“Could we have GHL send this information to an AI agent, have the agent analyze it, check another database, make a decision, call another API, update the contact, trigger the correct workflow, alert someone if there’s an exception, and put the results into a dashboard?”
…and says:
“Yep.”
Followed shortly thereafter by:
“Actually…I have an even better idea.”
That’s the person we want.
You’re curious.
You’re resourceful.
You’re creative.
You experiment.
You read documentation.
You build things just to see whether they can be built.
You don’t need someone standing behind you giving you instructions for every step.
And when something doesn’t work, your first reaction isn’t:
“It can’t be done.”
It’s: “Interesting. Let me figure this out.”
Bonus PointsExperience with any combination of:
- OpenAI API
- Claude / Anthropic
- AI agents
- Hermes agents
- Agentic automation
- MCP
- Tool/function calling
- RAG
- Replit
- Lovable
- Python
- JavaScript / TypeScript
- Node.js
- SQL / PostgreSQL
- Supabase
- GitHub
- Make
- Zapier
- n8n
- Cloudflare
- AWS / Google Cloud
- Twilio
- Stripe
- CRM architecture
- Marketing automation
- Data pipelines
- Internal business applications
And if you’re currently obsessed with some powerful new tool that isn’t on this list yet:
We want to hear about it.
What Success Looks LikeSuccess isn’t measured by how many lines of code you write.
It’s measured by how much better things work because of what you built.
Systems talk to each other.
Agents do useful work.
Manual processes disappear.
People stop copying information from one screen to another like it’s 2007.
Our team gets faster.
Our data gets better.
Ideas get tested quickly.
And things that used to begin with:
“Wouldn’t it be cool if…”
start ending with:
“Holy crap. It works.”
We’re looking for someone who can become the creative technical bridge between what we can imagine and what we can actually make happen.
Location, Hours & Travel- This is a FULL TIME remote job (not part-time, not side-gig, not “I’ll squeeze this in between other things”). Full-time.
- Occasional travel required for quarterly conferences and live sales events.
