Description of Work

The Office of the State Auditor (OSA) is seeking a Senior Auditor to serve within our Financial Audit Division. This position will assist with various financial audits performed on entities across state government, including institutions of higher education.
As part of our team, you will get to:
• Assist in planning the entire audit process under the supervision of an audit manager
• Assist in the coaching and mentoring of Financial Audit staff
• Lead and conduct on-site fieldwork, including gaining an understanding of internal controls
• Review accounting transactions and perform test procedures on more complex audit areas
• Help in reviewing workpapers prepared by audit teams
• Prepare and review audit reports and findings
• Interact with client management

  • Ability to follow audit, review, and investigation procedures as planned, offer suggestions for improvements to work papers, review work for completeness and accuracy, and ensures work papers are clear and understandable

A bachelor’s degree with 24 semester hours in accounting from an appropriately accredited institution and 3 years of experience in auditing/accounting
