What You'll Do

Epic Games is searching for a Senior Audio Designer with a passion for world-class immersive sound to lead the overall sound design efforts as part of our collaboration with Disney. On this talented team of veteran and emerging artists, you'll partner across teams and contribute directly to the projects across Epic Games.

In this role, you will

  • Help raise the quality level of audio in all Epic game titles and technologies
  • Engage with a world-class team to create amazing gaming experiences
  • Push the development of audio features and integration for future Unreal audio engine development

What we're looking for

  • Must have shipped and owned the creative aesthetic for sound design on at least three AAA titles and have 7 years of experience as part of an audio team
  • Extensive audio engineering and DAW skills and knowledge
  • Experience with Unreal or Unity editors, including scripting, level editor, animation, and linear editors
  • Experience with audio middleware and implementing audio assets into game build
  • Experience with mixing and mastering multitrack audio
  • Ability to design and implement audio scripting to achieve desired in-game audio features and dynamic playback
  • Ability to troubleshoot audio issues and optimize to meet memory budget and performance requirements across multiple platforms
  • Aware and capable of modern sound design techniques and practices, and must have experience creating audio for linear media
  • Should be able to talk about and deconstruct other current games' audio quality and implementation
  • Demo Reel Required:
    • 3-5 minute video file with footage from games on which you've worked. Can alternatively be individual or multiple videos of various projects - does not need to be edited down to one continuous reel
    • A cue sheet or superimposed text explaining your contributions to the footage
    • A diverse selection of footage including various types of work

This role is open to multiple locations across North America and Europe (including CA & WA).

The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren't limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic's generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).

California Base Pay Range

$155,111$258,518 USD

Washington Base Pay Range

$148,060$246,766 USD
