As a Senior Attorney within the Legal Payments team, you will be responsible for providing legal and regulatory support for Trade and Lending products, including without limitation export finance, import finance, cards and commercial receivables finance, working capital lending and bank guarantees. You will ensure compliance with regulations and support market innovation, while reviewing, drafting, and negotiating documents related to these areas. You will also stay abreast of key regulatory agendas impacting our business, participate in regional and global initiatives, and support the negotiation of facilities and deals. Your role will involve collaborating with the larger banking team and applying your legal skills to new business areas, with a focus on innovation and a solution-promotion approach.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review, draft, and negotiate documents related to the covered lines of business.
- Stay abreast of key regulatory agendas impacting JPMorgan's business, supporting regulators and the market innovation agenda, advising and interpreting regulations, and assessing legal risks.
- Participate in regional and global initiatives, including new business initiative assessments, and the development of templates, best practices, and procedures.
- Provide support in the negotiation of facilities and deals, including lending, trade finance, supply chain finance, receivables finance, and bank guarantees.
- Support the larger banking team, when needed, with respect to other products and services, as well as various institutional matters.
- Provide legal and regulatory support in connection with the covered lines of business.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Qualified lawyer with at least 7 years of legal experience in the financial sector, notably covering trade finance, lending, receivables finance and payments.
- Licensed attorney in Brazil.
- Fluent in English.
- Strong regulatory background.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and legal analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Strong interpersonal skills, team-oriented, and ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders.
