Everbridge is looking for an Atlassian (Jira) Administrator to join our Engineering team. Jira is a platform used by most teams across Everbridge, and this is a crucial role in how it is used across the organization. You will be a key partner, working with PMO and other Jira SMEs to align Jira with our development best practices. To be successful in this role, you should have experience managing all capabilities of the Atlassian ecosystem, be comfortable triaging and resolving internal support requests.
This opportunity requires working in US time zones and non-business hours for maintenance and upgrades.
What you'll do:
- Be the Subject Matter Expert for Jira Data Center and other Atlassian products like Confluence and other plugins.
- Manage all critical aspects of Atlassian tooling, including workflows, screen schemes, automation, JQL, reporting, permissions, notifications, custom fields, marketplace add-ons, and integrations.
- Understand stakeholder use cases and determine ways to optimize and improve setup and workflows for our tools.
- Assist in the management and integrations between tools in the development landscape, including Jira, Confluence, and integrations with other major systems, tools and add-ons (eg. Slack, Gitlab).
- Build, develop and maintain custom integrations (out-of-box and custom scripts) with 3rd party applications via REST APIs.
- Evaluate and recommend new plugins/applications to enhance Jira and Confluence functionality, including testing new versions of applications and plugins to ensure compatibility.
- Investigate and perform advanced troubleshooting for reported issues in Atlassian products.
- Work on escalations with Atlassian support or third-party support as required.
- Create and maintain documentation on Atlassian product configurations, automation, and processes.
- Execute OS and plugin upgrades during non-business hours, as necessary.
What you'll bring:
- 5+ years or more experience as a Jira / Atlassian Administrator
- Experience administering Jira / Confluence with hosted environments, including version upgrades.
- Experience in automation tools like Script Runner and Automation for Jira.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related technical role or equivalent experience.
- Familiar with Python Java, JavaScript, SQL and REST APIs.
- Solid understanding of Agile principles.
- Ability to prioritize and self-manage work from a support queue.
- A forward-looking attitude for troubleshooting, future state planning, and best practices.
Bonus if you have:
- Atlassian Certified Professional.
- Experience with Web Programming languages (Java, JavaScript).
- Experience with performance troubleshooting and tuning
