Position Description:
The incumbent will work closely with the M & E team to create robust MIS systems, MEL plans, centralized
database creations, data analysis, and evaluation of design creation for impact studies. Additionally, will also
develop and undertake structured monitoring and evaluation of different projects on a periodic basis under
the guidance of the supervisor.
The role will work alongside the implementation team and drive Strategic Research Design, Data Analysis
and Impact Evaluation and Assessments.
Responsibilities:
Establish the M&E approach for the projects, including but not limited to:
● Develop and execute a work plan for data capture and reporting against project performance
indicators and emergent project information needs.
● Develop systems and manage regular data quality assessments, data cleaning, and data analysis
● Identify and implement the appropriate information-gathering approach to inform knowledge gaps
that are relevant for project decision-making.
● Conduct field visits to understand the context and identify new areas of investigation
● Design and execute surveys and/or other data-gathering mechanisms for program evaluations.
● Review, analyze, and present findings from monitoring reports and other collected data to identify
insights and suggest approaches to studies and project implementation strategy
● Develop advanced analytical and qualitative reports showcasing the progress and impact of the
programs
● Conduct independent end-to-end evaluations - from large-scale surveys to inform baseline/ annual/
endline assessments, to regular small dipsticks that contribute to adaptive management.
This will involve: study design, instrument formation, conduct the sampling, train and monitor the
enumerators, ensure quality data collection, analysis, and report generation.
● Conduct field visits to verify the data collected and gather insights to inform better programming and
evaluation.
● Set up the Management Information Systems (MIS) for programs where needed, using
appropriate technology.
● Ensure efficient data systems by continuously evolving our approaches to data collection and
analysis.
● Effective data utilization by designing dashboards for stakeholders at all levels. Contribute to setting
a data-driven decision making process across programs.
● Provide support to program staff in performing data collection, analysis, review, and use.
Preferred Skill & Competencies:
● Candidate should have 2-4 years of experience in Data Analysis, Research Design and Impact
Evaluation, Monitoring and Evaluation of development projects
● Should be proficient in using quantitative techniques in field surveys and qualitative methods in impact
evaluation
● Should possess demonstrated knowledge of standard monitoring and evaluation tools such as logical
framework, results framework analysis, etc.
● Candidate should be capable of developing and using digital technology in implementing M&E functions.
● Should have excellent analytical skills and ability to undertake field assessment and synthesize data.
● Candidate should have excellent communication skills (oral as well as written) and should be proficient
in MS office, relevant database management, and analysis software
● Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an effective team member
Qualifications:
Post Graduate in Statistics / Quantitative Methods / Economics with significant Data
analysis or consulting work experience of 2+ years. Highly skilled at MIS system development, data analysis
and interpretation, performing quality checks and providing insights in real time
