Title: Senior Associate, Valuation

Job Summary
Barings is seeking a motivated individual with strong analytical skills and attention to detail for the Valuation team. This individual will be responsible for key components of Barings valuation processes across a diverse set of asset classes.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop productive working relationships with all stakeholders: Investment teams, fund accounting teams, auditors, third party vendors and management
- Establish the valuation work plan and schedule meetings with necessary stakeholders
- Ensure all valuations provided by a third-party have received the appropriate level of review and approval
- Maintain strong working knowledge of the inventory of assets to be valued
- Test calculations and valuation methodologies when needed
- Assist in the development of reporting to Management, Valuation Committee, and BODs
- Provide audit support as it relates to valuations
- Constantly seek to improve the process and approach through operating procedures, technology and analytical acumen.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Business preferred
- 1-3 years of work experience in valuation or auditing in financial services
- A proactive team player who isn’t afraid to ask questions and dig into details. A strong sense of curiosity will serve you well in this position
- Strong acumen in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint or be able obtain it
- Experience with SQL, or desire to gain experience is preferred
- Basic understanding of relational databases
- An interest in valuation methods and the desire to build knowledge and expertise in the field
- Be a team player with a positive attitude
- Progress toward the CFA charter is strongly preferred
Base Salary Range $75,000- $110,000 plus additional incentive programs (this will be based on candidate experience, location, and additional factors)
