Job Description:

Blake Willson Group is seeking a Senior Federal Financial Analyst to support federal clients with complex accounting, financial reporting, budgetary accounting, and financial management requirements. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience applying FASAB accounting standards and federal financial management requirements, with particular expertise in budgetary accounting, Standard General Ledger (USSGL) relationships, Statement of Budgetary Resources (SBR), and Governmentwide Treasury Account Symbol Adjusted Trial Balance System (GTAS) reporting. In this position, you will also:

  • Apply FASAB accounting standards and federal financial management requirements to complex accounting and financial reporting issues.
  • Support federal budgetary accounting, including SBR reporting, GTAS submissions, and budgetary/proprietary account relationships.
  • Analyze accounting and financial data, general and subsidiary ledgers, and Treasury data to identify discrepancies, abnormal balances, and reporting issues.
  • Research and resolve accounting issues through root-cause analysis, reconciliations, and appropriate remediation strategies.
  • Develop, document, and recommend adjusting journal entries (AJEs) and other accounting corrections.
  • Support financial statement preparation, audit readiness, and remediation of audit and internal control findings.
  • Evaluate financial and operational processes and recommend improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Develop analyses, financial models, workpapers, memoranda, presentations, and other client deliverables to support actionable recommendations.
  • Independently manage assigned workstreams and coordinate with clients, project leadership, auditors, and functional teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and quality control to junior and mid-level staff while supporting broader program objectives.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in federal accounting or financial management, including FASAB and budgetary accounting.
  • 3+ years of experience with SBR, GTAS, general ledger analysis, reconciliations, and accounting issue remediation.
  • 3+ years of experience analyzing financial data, developing or recommending AJEs, and providing supportable accounting recommendations.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience supporting federal agencies with financial statement preparation, audit readiness, or audit remediation.
  • Experience working with USSGL accounts, Treasury Account Symbols (TAS), and federal financial management systems.
  • Experience developing financial models, analytical workpapers, or data-driven recommendations.
  • Experience supporting federal internal controls and remediation of audit findings.

At Blake Willson Group, we believe in transparency and fairness in compensation practices. For this position, we offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $120,000 in the United States. Your individual salary within this range will be determined by various factors, including but not limited to your education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
