Job Description:
In this position as a Senior Business Data Analyst, you will design and implement AI-driven financial analytics and automation solutions. You will lead the development of an Automated Financial Intelligence (AFI) framework, enhance financial reporting processes, and deliver actionable insights to improve audit readiness, efficiency, and decision-making. In this position, you will also:
- Design, implement, and maintain an AI-driven Automated Financial Intelligence (AFI) framework to automate data extraction, reconciliation, and anomaly detection
- Ensure all AI/ML tools and data processes comply with NDAA Section 1007, Treasury AI Risk Management Framework, and DoD Advana data standards
- Develop and deliver semi-annual Automation Impact Reports quantifying reductions in manual labor and efficiency gains
- Perform complex account reconciliations across budgetary, proprietary, general ledger, and subsidiary ledger accounts
- Analyze financial data and prepare adjusting journal entries, improving processes for accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Support the preparation, validation, and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with OMB Circular A-136
- Provide financial data and support for internal and external data calls, including DFAS, OSD, OMB, and Inspector General inquiries
- Deliver technical support for Property, Plant, and Equipment (PP&E), including depreciation schedules and asset tracking
- Develop multi-year strategic budget models and scenario-based cost estimates to support executive decision-making
- Conduct advanced data analytics using AI/ML to identify trends, detect anomalies, and provide actionable insights into financial performance and process improvements
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or financial systems management.
- 5+ years of experience using data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik) to develop dashboards and executive-level reporting.
- 3+ years of experience leveraging automation and data analytics to support federal financial reporting, reconciliations, audit readiness, and data-driven decision-making.
Desired Skills:
- Experience developing and deploying automated tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, UiPath) to streamline financial processes and improve data integrity.
- Experience analyzing large federal financial datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and process improvement opportunities.
- Proficiency with DoD/DoW data platforms (e.g., Advana) to support audit readiness and leadership reporting.
- Experience supporting financial reporting, reconciliations, and audit-related data requirements.
- Strong ability to translate complex data insights into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
- Certifications in data analytics or process automation (e.g., Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, UiPath Certified Professional).
At Blake Willson Group, we believe in transparency and fairness in compensation practices. For this position, we offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 to $150,000 in the United States. Your individual salary within this range will be determined by various factors, including but not limited to your education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
