The Senior Associate Scientist will support vaccine programs through analytical method development, sample testing, and data interpretation, with a primary focus on separation‑based analytical techniques.
What You Will Achieve
- Perform analytical method development and sample testing under manager supervision in support of vaccine process development, formulation development, release, stability, and characterization.
- Apply separation-based techniques, including but not limited to: HPLC (SEC, IEX, RP) and CE
- Utilize LC MS-based methods for characterization of vaccine antigens and related analytes.
- Execute method verification, qualification, and optimization studies under appropriate supervision.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data; summarize results and conclusions clearly and provide to the manager.
- Document experimental work contemporaneously in electronic laboratory notebooks in compliance with internal standards.
- Author and review analytical methods, protocols, and technical notes or method qualification reports with appropriate guidance.
- Participate in general laboratory activities, including instrument maintenance, reagent management, and laboratory housekeeping.
- Work in compliance with applicable data integrity expectations, as required.
- Continuously improve safe and effective working practices in the laboratory environment
Qualifications
Must Have
- BS with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, or MS with 0 to 3 in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related field.
- Hands‑on experience with chromatographic or electrophoretic separations.
- Strong data analysis, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team‑based laboratory environment.
Nice to Have
- LC‑MS experience supporting proteins and/or mRNAs preferred.
- Experience using common AI tools, including generative technologies such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, to support problem solving and enhance productivity.
- Experience with liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC‑MS)
Work Location Assignment: On Premise
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $68,600.00 to $114,300.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
