Position Overview

Markham is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Associate, Program Operations & Events to support a national civic education initiative. This role serves as a critical project management and operations resource, leading the administration of a large-scale essay submission and judging process while supporting hundreds of live events across the country.

The ideal candidate is a strong project manager who enjoys managing multiple moving pieces, working with external vendors, supporting stakeholders, and creating seamless processes. This individual will serve as a primary liaison between clients, vendors, judges, and event hosts, ensuring a high-quality experience from program launch through event execution.

What You'll DoProgram Operations & Project Management
  • Manage the full lifecycle of an information submission and review process, from platform setup and testing through final reporting and program closeout.

  • Serve as the primary project manager and liaison between client stakeholders and technology vendors.

  • Coordinate reviewer onboarding, communications, training, and support throughout the review process.

  • Maintain reporting dashboards and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.

  • Lead support for inquiries, ensuring timely and professional responses.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the information submission and review platform, troubleshooting issues and partnering with vendors on enhancements and solutions.

Event Support & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Support more than 200 events during the spring and summer program cycle.

  • Manage event-related communications and inquiries from partner organizations and event hosts.

  • Facilitate virtual information sessions and training opportunities for event hosts and stakeholders.

  • Oversee document management processes and maintain program resources and materials.

Vendor & Technology Management
  • Manage relationships with multiple technology and content vendors.

  • Coordinate implementation and support of event technology platforms.

  • Oversee event platform administration and content management processes.

  • Partner with vendors to ensure successful execution of program requirements and event deliverables.

  • Monitor timelines, deliverables, and issue resolution across multiple external partners.

What We're Looking For
  • 3–5+ years of experience in project management, program operations, event management, or a related field.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Experience coordinating complex projects with multiple stakeholders and external vendors.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.

  • Experience managing technology platforms, databases, or online submission systems preferred.

  • Customer-service mindset with the ability to respond professionally to inquiries and resolve issues.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and virtual collaboration tools.

  • Experience supporting events, training sessions, webinars, or stakeholder engagement initiatives is preferred.
