The Integration Engineering team is part of Global Supply Engineering and Sustainment within Pfizer's Global Supply (PGS) organization. The team is responsible for horizontally supporting all manufacturing process needs. This spans across a variety of disciplines, including software development, architecture design, application support, deployment automation and a lot more.
Our mission is to pave the way for Industry/Pharma 4.0 by providing ubiquitous access to data, implementing scalable modern solutions and achieving deployment efficiencies across our manufacturing sites and to the enterprise.
Integration engineers work closely with Pfizer's manufacturing sites and with many product teams to capture and refine requirements, manage expectations and unlock the potential and value of new technologies such as AI, low/no code, CI/CD automation and more.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Integration Engineer in this position will report directly to the head of Manufacturing Data Enablement, the team that is responsible for developing and delivering the common architecture for enabling real time manufacturing data across multiple systems and applications. Her/his role is to work with the rest of the team on developing new capabilities while ensuring good coding practices.
Besides development, the role also has a business side. Integration engineers are responsible for communicating with the impacted business teams and for helping them achieve their strategic roadmaps. This requires a strong focus on delivery, team collaboration and effective communication.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates for this role must have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other IT related fields
- 2+ years of experience with Java or Python, preferably in service development and integration
- Familiarity with Eclipse, Spring Boot and Maven or similar IDEs, tools and marketplaces
- Good knowledge of Git and version control
- Familiarity with deployment automation and CI/CD tools and techniques
- Basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Experience with the full Software Development Lifecycle
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills
- Be able to demonstrate a high standard of the English language, spoken and written.
- Familiarity with project management
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The following skills are not required for the role but will be considered a big plus as they make considerable difference in getting up to speed and maximizing contribution.
- Previous experience in a global, multicultural team
- Previous experience with manufacturing systems and GxP practices
- Previous experience working with business clients or delivering customer-oriented solutions
- Experience with AI orchestration and development suites (like Dataiku or Databricks)
- Experience working with LLM APIs
- Familiarity with Apache Camel, Kafka, AWS S3 and Snowflake DB.
- Familiarity with any of the following industrial systems and interfacing protocols: Manufacturing Execution Systems, Manufacturing Historians, MQTT, OPC, DCS
