- Own the Model: You’ll own our long-term, 3-statement monthly operating model, build forecasts with the executive team, and keep our scenario planning current. As our plans change and our processes evolve, you'll explain where reality diverged from what we projected, and you’ll operate on a tight cadence around Board reporting and executive team reviews.
- Drive Budgeting: You’ll work with department heads and the executive team to build annual + quarterly budgets and targets. You’ll collaborate with the accounting team on monthly company, segment, and budget-owner budget-to-actual reviews.
- Run Financial & Operational Analytics: You’ll own our monthly customer cohort model, run weekly and monthly financial KPI reviews, dig into one-off analyses that surface where we can operate better - working with leaders across the company to understand how the business actually runs.
- Automate Planning: You’ll be a leading force in our ongoing transformation toward an AI-native finance tech stack and automated financial planning and analysis processes.
- Support Financing and Capital Markets: You’ll work with the executive team to identify potential partnership and financing opportunities, support due diligence processes, and build pro forma business cases for potential strategic partnerships.
- Mission: This work is incredibly humbling. Every day we hear amazing stories and we get the pleasure of working on something that’s impacting lives. One of our favorite user quotes: “I hate quoting an old, overused cliche, but I’ve been very lost. And I think for the first time in a while I may be found.”
- Ownership: You'll be a team of one, which means the financial model is yours end to end. You’ll work directly with our CFO & Co-Founder on materials that will drive our operational decision making and that will be presented to our Board of Directors.
- Growth: You’ll get to journey with a VC-backed tech startup that is still growing extremely quickly. Every employee is a core team member who is expected to help build the company as a whole, but you’ll play a unique role in helping shape how we make decisions as we scale.
- Flexibility: HQ is in Chicago and we would love to have as many team members there as possible, but we are completely flexible on location within the United States.
- Comp: We will pay competitive market rates in terms of equity, cash, & benefits.
What We're Looking For
- Passion: First and foremost, we’re looking for someone excited and passionate about our mission. It makes it a lot more fun to actually care about what you’re working on!
- Experience: Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, plus 3+ years as a financial analyst or associate or equivalent (e.g., investment banking, private equity, corp dev). You’ve built 3-statement financial projection models, you’re comfortable with scenario modeling, and you’re familiar with consumer subscription or enterprise SaaS revenue and expense recognition principles. Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills are required. Bonus, but not required: Experience in automated financial planning and KPI reviews.
- Precision: The results of your work will be a core tool in the executive team’s operational and long-term decision making. You will need to have an incredible strong attention to detail, even while moving quickly.
- Calm Under Pressure: You’ll naturally have to work through tight and important deadlines around Board reporting and executive team reviews. It will be critical for you to be able to maintain focus and clarity even in high pressure moments with our executive leaders.
- Efficient: You’ll need to produce significant output with minimal wasted effort. You can do “back of the envelope” analyses quickly and you naturally build analyses in a way that’s easy to explain, audit, and update. You create progress without waiting to be handed a plan, and you manage several priorities at once without dropping any of them.
- Grit: A start-up is tough and we really care about what we’re doing. You'll be jumping into a “team of 1” role in a fast moving organization - you’ll have to advance multiple priorities at once.
- Ownership Mindset: You’ll be interfacing directly with senior leaders across the team, will be responsible for understanding how everything in the business actually works, and building forecasts that reflect that reality. As our plans change and our processes evolve, it will be your responsibility to keep the forecast mechanics up to date and articulate how the past deviated from our prior plans.
- Big-Picture Judgment: You’ll need to be able to take a step back and discern the forest from the trees. You know what analysis might give real insights or change a decision, and you can distill a large model down to the few drivers that matter.
- Clear Communicator: You communicate proactively and explain financial work to people who don't live in the model, easily walking someone from your assumptions through to your conclusions. You build trust quickly across the org, and you follow through on your commitments.

What We Do
We are building a faith-based meditation app. Think Headspace or Calm, but for prayer & catholic spirituality. We believe that we're all looking for peace, and that there is no surer way to find it than by learning to sit in silence with God: “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” MT 11:28. And we believe that if we’re able to combine the beauty of the Church’s prayer & meditation traditions with the world's best technology & design, it might just change the world.
