Job Description:
In this position as a Senior Associate, Federal General Ledger Accountant, you will support federal general ledger accounting activities by preparing accounting entries, performing reconciliations, and maintaining supporting schedules to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. You will assist with monthly accounting operations, Treasury reporting, and audit readiness while supporting compliance with federal accounting requirements. In this position, you will also:
- Prepare recurring journal vouchers and supporting documentation.
- Support monthly accounting entries for Treasury interest, subsidy transfers, collections, accrued interest, and related activity.
- Perform reconciliations between feeder systems and the accounting system.
- Prepare payment vouchers, apportionment/allotment logs, journal voucher (JV) logs, accrual logs, and reconciliation schedules.
- Support GTAS edit checks, front-end adjustments, and fund monitoring templates.
- Research Standard General Ledger (SGL) variances, abnormal balances, and accounting discrepancies.
- Prepare workpapers and supporting schedules for senior review.
- Support standard operating procedure (SOP) updates and process documentation.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in federal accounting, general ledger (GL) accounting, financial reporting, or audit support.
- 1+ year of experience applying the United States Standard General Ledger (USSGL), budgetary and proprietary accounting, reconciliations, journal vouchers, and Treasury reporting.
- 1+ year of experience preparing or reviewing federal accounting entries and supporting schedules.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with federal credit reform accounting
- Active CPA, CGFM, CDFM, or other relevant professional certification
- Experience supporting financial statement audits and audit readiness.
At Blake Willson Group, we believe in transparency and fairness in compensation practices. For this position, we offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $90,000 in the United States. Your individual salary within this range will be determined by various factors, including but not limited to your education, experience, skills, and geographic location. Skills Required
