The Financial Services Data as a Service (DaaS) Research Team delivers support and insights related to the raw datasets utilized by the investing community. Our products and services serve the Asset Management industry, which includes Hedge Funds, Mutual Funds, Pension Funds, Quantitative Funds, and Private Equity. We’re a team of data-driven analysts passionate about transforming data into actionable insights and clearly communicating those insights to our sophisticated investing clientele.
As a Senior Associate, Private Equity focus, you will contribute to analyses and presentations using NIQ’s full suite of US-based and global datasets and analytical models. Your team will collaborate with data scientists, analytical experts and thought leaders across the organization to inform strategic recommendations on behalf of Private Equity clients within our growing Due Diligence Consulting practice.
As an ideal candidate for this role, you are an effective communicator and proactive team player with strong analytical and storytelling skills, eager to deepen your expertise in leveraging point-of-sale and consumer data to provide meaningful assessments on industries, categories, and brands. You are comfortable collaborating with internal teams and supporting interactions with stakeholders at various levels. You understand the language of Private Equity and the nuances of the due diligence process, you anticipate and tackle client questions before they arise, and you approach challenges with curiosity and confidence.
You are ambitious, continually building on your understanding of market and consumer trends and their implications to the world of Private Equity and Financial Services clients. You are comfortable working with a wide range of datasets as a part of your ‘toolkit,’ and value internal collaboration to strengthen your consultative approach, and you excel in dynamic, fast-paced settings.
Responsibilities
- Leverage your knowledge of the marketplace, analytical expertise, and storytelling skills to propel and enhance your team’s PE consulting deliverables.
- Understand key drivers of company performance and how to derive them using various NIQ datasets and models.
- Serve as a key contributor to due diligence projects by pulling, cutting, and interpreting NIQ’s proprietary data and preparing clear, informative, and compelling presentations for client use.
- Support adoption and usage of NIQ datasets by demonstrating their value through well-structured insights and effective visualizations.
- Collaborate closely with senior team members to ensure client needs and priorities are addressed, and contribute to verbal discussions with Private Equity investors when needed.
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Finance or fields that employ rigorous data analysis preferred
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in Financial Services, Consulting, Analytics, Brand Strategy, Investment Banking or related roles with exposure to data-driven decision making
- Strong organizational and time management skills with understanding how to prioritize under tight deadlines
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team, and communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely in oral and written form
- Adaptable to fast-paced environments and capable of meeting deadlines even when requirements are evolving.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation and analysis
- Strong verbal, presentation, and written skills with a client-first mindset
- Ability to simplify complex data and concepts into actionable insights for diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with Private Equity and/or Brand Corp Dev teams, a plus
- Demonstrated curiosity with desire to learn and continually upgrade skills, a plus
- Experience with Python, R, SAS or MATLAB or SQL/relational databases, a plus

This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation of the following range: $96,300.00 - $110,000.00. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This role might also be eligible for a sales-based incentive or performance-based bonus.
