Responsibilities:
- Responsible for converting clients to the new 2.0 payroll system. This includes core client setup, set up of employees and their wages as well as running parallel processing of each new client conversion.
- Ensure complete accuracy of payroll processing in 2.0 before transitioning to payroll specialists for ongoing routine processing.
- Resolve client issues and answer client questions on the conversion as needed.
- Assist with client onboarding and training on the new system as needed.
- Set up and maintain payroll database for clients assigned.
- Receive and organize payroll hours worked, including employee new hire and changed information.
- Enter employee information received to payroll database, process payroll and prepare paychecks and process various payroll journals and reports each payroll cycle.
- Review garnishments orders received, compute deduction required, and enter to employee's deduction file. Provide instruction to the client regarding the amount withheld to be deposited with the court.
- Prepare annual W-2s and magnetic reporting required.
- Review payrolls, tax deposits, and quarterly payroll reports processed by other Payroll Specialists.
- Consult with the Relationship Manager, client, the client's bookkeeper, or the client's payroll manager, regarding matters related to payroll processing or payroll tax issues.
- Perform various other tasks as assigned that may not fall within the scope of this job description.

- Ability to work hours necessary to meet deadlines for work assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Meet turnaround requirements for payroll preparation and delivery and for government reports and payroll tax deposit due dates.
- Perform all work in a professional manner and in accordance with firm policies, procedures, and professional standards.
- Keep current with changing government regulations and payroll tax rates and apply those changes accordingly
- Cooperate effectively with clients, client staff, co-workers, and internal support staff.
- Organize work schedule to meet the requirements of the assignments.
Required Qualifications:
- Individuals at this level normally have a High School diploma
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office products
- Strong customer service skills
- 2-3 years of payroll experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Payroll or accounting experience.
- Prior experience working in a CPA firm. Work Environment:
- Increased workload required during certain times of the month or year.
- General office working conditions.
