About this role
As an established team with a targeted growth plan we are looking for an experienced Business Services Senior Accountant to join our Melbourne Team. Focused on fostering a culture of collaboration and inclusion, this team is passionate about everything they do and will support you in following your chosen pathway within Business Services.
Key responsibilities
Understanding how to grow our clients’ business means you will get involved a broad range of activities, including:
- Preparation of financial statements, tax returns, BAS, FBT, payroll tax returns along with assisting with tax and accounting advice for a broad range clients including; privately owned businesses, high net worth families and corporate clients, with exposure to international clients if desired
- Preparation of SMSF financial reports and tax returns
- Researching and analysing tax technical issues across various tax areas
- Liaising regularly with the ATO on various matters, including seeking remission of ATO penalties and interest
- Monitoring, reviewing and liaising with clients and regulatory bodies regarding accounting compliance requirements
- Contribute to the development and implementation of commercial structures to assist clients in achieving their business and personal goals
- Build strong client relationships and regularly monitor, review and liaise with them regarding compliance requirement
Skills & experience
Your passion for understanding your clients’ businesses will see you go beyond addressing technical issues to developing actionable growth recommendations. This role will suit someone with the following skills, experience and attributes:
- Experience within a professional service firm; working collaboratively with family groups, private businesses and high net worth individuals
- Knowledge and demonstrated application of Australian Tax Legislation, working across a broad subsection of Australian corporates, privately owned businesses, and individuals tax matters
- Relevant tertiary qualification and CA/CPA qualified (or currently completing)
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to collaboratively work with and influence stakeholders at all levels of client organisations
- Demonstrated flexible, adaptable and innovative approach to complex problem solving

The salary range for this role is $90,000 to $110,000 per annum inclusive of superannuation.
