The role in a nutshell

Once onboarded, you will function as a core member of the EMEA PS Delivery team, becoming a Senior Architect. You will have the opportunity to demonstrate your technical abilities to drive and develop solutions that assist customers in achieving their business goals and outcomes. You will help VMware by Broadcom’s largest and most complex enterprise customers deliver their cutting-edge technology initiatives using the VMware Cloud Foundation Platform. These technologies enable the possibility for them to provide the best class of services to their end-users through the stronger and the most powerful Cloud and SDDC solutions of the market.

You will also hold responsibility for gathering and vetting customer requirements to create an architectural design consisting of virtual infrastructure, configuration recommendations and planning, and identification of deployment validation processes and procedures. During your career as a Senior Architect, you will gain significant cross-industry experience and be expected to apply your problem-solving capabilities to drive successful business outcomes for our customers.

As a Senior Architect, you will find that no two days are the same! You will interact externally with customers from different lines of business across a variety of industries with a multitude of different requirements. Internally you will work with colleagues across the business from salespeople to customer success to highly skilled engineers and your peers. Your technical skills coupled with your active listening and creativity will be key to positioning and selling the best services solutions to provide desired business outcomes and maximum value for our customers.

What success looks like in the first 6-12 months

The primary objective of a Senior Architect is to support VMware by Broadcom’s post-sales activities by ensuring the solution being delivered is fit for purpose through referencing the initial business goals and objectives. You will be expected to demonstrate commercial and scope awareness, and a strong understanding of the wider technical landscape and how it relates to/integrates with customer environments, helping the customer meet their objectives and maximise the value of their investment.

As a Senior Architect, you will integrate with the EMEA Architect community & learn how the Services team operates to deliver high-quality and effective solutions for our customers. You will meet the wider Broadcom team, build relationships, and start leveraging your knowledge and ideas in building solid approaches that will bring customers success.

What type of work will you be doing?

• Lead VMware by Broadcom’s largest and most complex projects, within the top tier of strategically important accounts.
• This is a consulting position, where you will be intensively using architectural, technical, business, and leadership skills.
• In addition to end-to-end technical governance of your project, you will also identify commercial, cost, schedule, operational, and scope risks, with possible mitigation(s).
• Lead complex projects with high levels of executive visibility, solutions being deployed for the first time, a complex integration ecosystem, and complex challenges to overcome.
• Work with project management on project budget, resource planning, and all aspects of efficient large project delivery.
• You will work directly with senior technical stakeholders and other employees on the day-to-day activities involved with the post-sales implementation of VMware Cloud solutions and serve as a Technical Design Authority.
• You will articulate solution design, integrating both technical and business concepts, and present a transformational journey to project stakeholders. Your goal is to lead the customer through their journey to successfully adopt our platforms for their end users. You will communicate effectively to all audiences—this is key to the success of your projects. 
• You will manage customer expectations and work with Project Managers to create project plans with realistic workstream timelines.
• Manage customer and internal escalations; collaborate with the support and engineering teams as needed to resolve product and customer issues.
• Create intellectual property and high-level enterprise solution designs while functioning as a resource for “Best Practices” and driving adoption of VMware by Broadcom solutions.
• Regularly present at internal and public events, including internal Practice Meetings, Tech Summits and VMware Explore.
• Develop and maintain senior-level relationships with stakeholders across internal teams such as Professional Services, Product Management, Engineering, Global Support, and other organizations.
• Lead, coach, and mentor other consultants and architects to develop talent within the organisation. 
• We can’t improve without continuously evolving our methodologies, tools, and services. We will count on you to challenge existing delivery processes and identify customer trends in the digital workspace to assist in developing go-to-market strategies and new or revised service offerings. You will also contribute to digital leadership forums (whitepapers, blogs, conferences, etc.).

What we're looking for

The following skills and experience will support your suitability to the role. We are keen to continue to develop a diverse team with different depths of expertise and knowledge. 

• VCP or similar 3rd Party qualifications required.
• VCAP Design, VCIX, VCDX, TOGAF, ITIL, Certified Scrum Master are all highly desirable
• Experience with designing VMware Private Cloud datacenters and/or migrations for multiple complex customers is desirable.
• An understanding of modern applications and associated platform requirements is desirable.

Flexible: The role is considered flexible and will be a mix of working from a local VMware by Broadcom office and remote depending on your preferences and the arrangements determined by your manager. You will be expected to live within a reasonable non-daily commute of the office.

Remote: This role is fully remote, allowing you the flexibility to work from the location you feel most productive and comfortable.
