Senior AQA Engineer

We are actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Automation QA Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing robust automated testing solutions across our software products, with a strong emphasis on ensuring the quality and reliability of both frontend and backend systems. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of test automation frameworks, comprehensive testing methodologies, and a commitment to software testing best practices. This position requires exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the capacity to thrive both independently and as a key contributor within a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and efficient automated testing frameworks and scripts for complex applications.
• Proactively identify, analyze, and prioritize test cases suitable for automation, ensuring optimal test coverage.
• Develop, execute, and meticulously analyze automated test plans and cases, verifying comprehensive coverage of both functional and non-functional requirements.
• Design and implement robust automated tests for backend APIs and services using Cypress, including validation of responses, status codes, data structures, and error handling.
• Collaborate closely with development teams throughout the software development lifecycle to identify, reproduce, and resolve software defects efficiently.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives within testing processes, tools, and overall QA methodologies.
• Actively participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, from initial design and requirements gathering through to deployment and post-release validation.
• Contribute to the establishment and adherence of coding standards for test automation.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of dedicated professional experience in Software Automated Testing.
• Demonstrable strong experience with Cypress for both frontend and backend testing, including specific expertise for API testing, data validation, and integration tests.
• Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages, particularly JavaScript or Java.
• In-depth understanding of software testing best practices, methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum), and quality assurance principles.
• Good knowledge of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and tools, with practical experience integrating automated tests (e.g., GitLab CI/CD).
• Proven experience working effectively within an Agile/Scrum development process.
• Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven fluency in English.
• Familiarity with performance testing concepts and tools.
• Experience with other automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Selenium) in addition to Cypress would be considered an asset
• Knowledge of database systems (SQL/NoSQL) and experience with database validation would be considered an asset
• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) would be considered an asset.
