About the role:
The Data team at bsport is building the intelligence layer behind our product: the models that personalise the experience, surface opportunities, and help studios operate and grow. This role exists to bring those models to life within the product itself, rather than to pursue ideas that stop at the prototype stage.

As a Senior Applied Scientist, you will build and ship the AI/ML that powers the bsport product. You will own product-integrated models end to end, from problem framing and prototyping through to production deployment. Working closely with Product and Engineering, you will ensure these capabilities are delivered in the product and improved iteratively to enhance the user and customer experience. You will set the technical direction for the ML capabilities that differentiate bsport and raise the bar for how the team builds, ships, and measures.

🎯 What will be your impact:

As a Senior Applied Scientist at bsport, you will:

• Take end-to-end ownership of product-facing models, carrying them from problem definition and experimentation through to a deployed and dependable solution.

• Develop the AI&ML capabilities our users experience directly, spanning personalisation, recommendations, LLM-powered and generative features, embeddings, and forecasting.

• See your work through to production rather than handing it over, partnering with Engineering on questions of deployment, latency, cost, and ongoing monitoring.

• Establish a clear definition of success for each initiative, designing the metrics and evaluation that demonstrate genuine product impact and setting aside approaches that do not earn their place.

• Contribute to the technical direction of applied AI&ML at bsport, helping to shape the standards by which the team designs, ships, and measures its work.

• Support the development of fellow scientists and engineers, leading through the example of the work you deliver and the rigour you bring to it.

🌟You would be great fit if you have:

• You bring around 4+ years of experience building and shipping machine learning in production, including models that reached a real product and moved meaningful metrics.

• You think of yourself as a builder first, writing production-grade code and taking responsibility for getting models live rather than leaving them in a notebook.

• You have genuine depth in modern machine learning, recommendation and personalization systems, embeddings, and forecasting.

• You are fluent in Python and have worked hands-on on ML solutions

• You have a track record of taking work developing solutions, from an open problem to a validated solution running in production.

• You communicate with clarity and move comfortably between technical peers and product stakeholders.

• Experience embedding machine learning into a live SaaS or consumer product would be a strong plus.

• Familiarity with the broader production path, including deployment, inference optimization, and model monitoring, is welcome.
