Renishaw is seeking to recruit a Raman Application Scientist to work within the Spectroscopy Products Division.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a passion for science, looking to take their career in a commercial direction. This customer-facing role provides technical sales support by understanding customer requirements and demonstrating how they can be achieved using Renishaw’s spectroscopy offering.
Responsibilities
Conducting feasibility studies, analysing customer samples and performing on-site and remote instrument demonstrations to support the Renishaw sales team.
Providing expert guidance to support our existing customers, including on-site training, delivering Raman Revealed training workshops and responding to emails.
Working as part of a team to deliver marketing activities such as exhibitions, seminars, workshops and webinars.
Supporting the production of written marketing and training materials (notes, posters, manuals, brochures, etc.).
Key requirements
A degree in a related discipline.
Practical experience using analytical instrumentation, preferably in a customer-facing environment.
Knowledge of Raman spectroscopy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt style as required for industrial and academic audiences.
Confidence presenting to audiences of different sizes.
The ability to multi-task, prioritise, and deliver to deadlines.
Diligent, methodical, but efficient work ethic.
A high level of general computer literacy including Microsoft Office software.
A full UK driving licence.
A full, valid passport.
Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally.
Desirable requirements
PhD in a related science discipline.
Previous commercial experience in scientific instrumentation.
Practical experimental skills using Raman spectroscopy instrumentation.

The ability to meet deadlines, good attention to detail, and prioritise a range of tasks.
Resourceful, willing to learn new skills, and able to problem solve.
