A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As a Senior Applications Engineer at MKS, you will partner with R&D, engineering and product management to develop and launch new vacuum valve products solutions. In this role, you will report to the Director of Valve Product Management.
You Will Make an Impact By:
- Provide technical support for worldwide MKS sales for V&IPS products, including product selection, specifying special configurations, and troubleshooting.
- Travel to customer sites (with local sales and applications staff) to discuss product features and integration, support testing or product installation, or troubleshoot problems.
- Working with Product Managers, Engineers, and Applications Engineers, perform tests or demonstrations to resolve customer applications issues.
- Define and document special customer product configurations based on customer needs.
- Generate, review, and price special customer configurations, assist Sales and Customer Service in providing product quotations to customers.
- Prepare, conduct, and participate in training and education programs focusing on product capabilities and applications.
- Travel Requirements: Up to 50% of Travel is required.
Skills You Bring:
- B.S. in an Engineering or Physical Science field. Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering preferred.
- 5 years in a design, applications, or manufacturing engineering role
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills for working with customers and in-house MKS personnel.
- Experience, knowledge, or ability to learn vacuum technology, pressure control, mass flow controllers, vacuum valves, plasma systems, and systems integration.
- Must be able to operate ‘hands-on’ as necessary when working at customer locations, or internal labs
- Proficient in MS office and computer skills
- Ability to travel about 25% of the time both domestically and internationally
Preferred Skills: (Optional)
- 2-5 years of experience with Semiconductor Deposition or etch tools, Reactive Gas Systems, or vacuum deposition systems is preferred
- Knowledge or ability to learn basic use of digital electronics: TTL logic, RS232, Devicenet, and / or EtherCAT
- Experience working in or supporting a production semiconductor fab or equipment manufacturer is a plus.
