This role is based at our Milton Park (Abingdon) office, expectation is 4 days per week in the office/lab.

As part of our ongoing expansion, EnSilica are looking to strengthen our Analogue, Mixed-Signal and SoC silicon evaluation and applications capability. We are looking for bright candidates who have an enthusiasm and aptitude for working in this vital part of our business.

Working attached to our Oxford office, you will be self-motivated, and be engaged in hands-on work involving testing, characterization and evaluation of ASIC.  Our products are multi-disciplinary and can encompass analogue mixed-signal or SoC silicon products in industrial and automotive applications.


The role is key in getting silicon products qualified and to the necessary standard to meet specification and be fit for volume production.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Working with silicon design engineers and other team members to plan and execute detailed bench level silicon test, characterisation and evaluation.
  • Develop testing hardware / software and tools for IC validation.
  • Apply analysis and statistical skill to process and interpret test data. Generating document/presentation/report.
  • Work with product and production engineering in silicon operations to ensure smooth transfer of bench automated tests to mass production test.
  • Work on silicon product applications work as required by the relevant business unit.
  • Interface with Project Managers, Account Managers and engage in customer facing activities, including writing application notes and customer support documents.
  • Contribute to the smooth running of an electronics laboratory through planning and collaboration with colleagues.

Your Key Skills and Experience

  • Engineering degree in electronic engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • >5 years professional industry experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in analogue/mixed-signal silicon testing and characterisation
    • Planning from design specification/datasheet
    • Bench level testing including manual and automated tests design and programming
    • Compiling measurement and compliance reports.
  • Experience of silicon handover for production.
  • Knowledge of analog or mixed-signal electronic test equipment (power supplies, DMMs, oscilloscopes, signal generators, ARBs, Logic Analysers, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers etc. ).
  • Accurate, detailed and organised data entry and management.
  • Programming skills ideally one or more of
    • Bench level automated test programming (Python, Labview).
  • Problem solving and debug skills.
  • Practical electronics laboratory skills: prototyping, soldering etc.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good IT skills; Windows, MS Office, Linux.
  • Experience with microcontrollers (i.e. Arduino, Nucleo, Raspberry Pi etc) is beneficial.
  • Experience in software GUI development is beneficial.

Position Specifics

This role is hybrid, our guideline is for 3 days in the office.

Some occasional travel may be required to another EnSilica office.
