Your role and responsibilities (Mandatory)
In this role, you will have the opportunity to be a design authority for an engineering discipline. Each day, you will complete assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring assignments are completed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards.

This role is contributing to the Automation - Process Industries division in Columbus, OH.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Leading and executing ABB DCS projects, including AC450 migration programs, with full technical ownership from design through commissioning and startup.
Designing, configuring, testing, and commissioning applications using ABB AC450 DCS Controllers, including development and maintenance of AMPLE-based control applications.
Serving as the primary technical point of contact for customers throughout project execution, ensuring successful solution delivery and high customer satisfaction.
Developing engineering work plans, schedules, and cost estimates, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
Supporting proposal and tendering activities by providing technical expertise for DCS migration and automation projects.
Providing advanced troubleshooting and technical support for installed systems, identifying opportunities to improve system performance and reliability.
Mentoring and coaching junior engineers, sharing best practices and lessons learned in control system design, migration, and project execution
Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with ABB AC450 DCS Controllers, including a strong understanding of legacy ABB control system architectures and migration methodologies.
- Proficiency in AMPLE programming, with demonstrated experience developing, modifying, and troubleshooting ABB DCS applications.
Experience working with MasterView and related ABB operator interface environments. - Ability to read, interpret, and develop engineering documentation, including P&IDs, control narratives, functional design specifications, and system architecture diagrams.
- Proven experience supporting automation and control systems within industrial process environments.
- 5+ years of experience in DCS application engineering, including system design, configuration, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and support}.
- Demonstrated experience in the Pulp & Paper industry, including process knowledge and control applications is preferred.
- Experience with the ABB Pulp & Paper Library is preferred.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $100,500 and $160,800 annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus.
