About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Application Database Administrator (DBA) to lead and support critical database infrastructure and services. This role is responsible for the performance, availability, and scalability of our enterprise DB2 and SQL Server environments, including CICS services.
You will take ownership of upgrades, maintenance, performance tuning, disaster recovery planning, and proactive troubleshooting, while guiding developers and technical teams in best practices for database design and optimization. This is a hands-on role where your technical expertise, stakeholder collaboration, and leadership will ensure our platforms run securely, reliably, and efficiently.
- Governance: You will implement DB2/SQL upgrades, manage CICS services, and perform backups, restores, and optimization. You'll also develop database security standards and support disaster recovery through regular testing.
- Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting: You will troubleshoot and resolve database issues, perform root cause analysis, and develop action plans to prevent recurrence. You’ll monitor performance metrics, configure alerts, and resolve issues proactively to maintain stability and avoid customer impact.
- Development & Technical Support: You will write, debug, and optimize complex SQL; collaborate with developers and infrastructure teams to improve performance; and support integration, testing, and release activities involving data dependencies.
- Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement: You will act as a subject matter expert, mentor junior DBAs, and guide team standards. You’ll collaborate across teams to support digital applications, review database deliverables for quality and compliance, and perform other duties as needed.
About You
You are a seasoned Database Administrator with extensive experience managing and maintaining enterprise-scale DB2 and SQL databases in high-availability environments. You are deeply familiar with both traditional and cloud-based infrastructure and have a track record of driving performance improvements and reliability through proactive monitoring and automation.
You are confident in your ability to navigate complex issues, support critical application integrations, and mentor team members while collaborating across technical and business teams. You bring a structured, security-conscious mindset to your work and are passionate about enabling digital transformation through rock-solid data platforms.
