The ClaimCenter team is searching for an Application Analyst & Developer. Claims IT supports and enhances the ClaimCenter application used by various Great American Business Units.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze application specifications and technology approaches to ensure business requirements are met and are scalable for future system enhancements
  • Collaborate with Business Analyst team members to design solutions and, diagnose and resolve complex defects, and suggest future application solutions
  • Develop automated unit test cases for testing integrations
  • Support testing activities and resolve issues identified
  • Work within a development team using Agile methodology to deliver software
  • Work across the organization to provide business processes or design recommendations consistent with long-term business and IT strategy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer information systems or engineering and/or a minimum of 2 years of work experience developing Java applications
  • Experience with the following technologies and tools are a plus:
    • J2EE framework
    • Apache Tomcat
    • RDMS such as Oracle or SQL Server and integration of the database with Java applications
    • Webservice/API development (REST, SOAP); implementing SOA, ESB modules, web services, and APIs
    • Web-based data formats (XML, JSON)
    • Webservice testing tools (SoapUI, Postman)
    • Writing JUnit tests
    • Build and deployment tools (Concourse, Jenkins)
    • GitHub for version control
    • Develop applications using microservices framework
    • Full Stack development: front-end and back-end development experience
    • Application testing and coordinating test strategies with IT Quality Assurance teams
    • Guidewire Cloud development experience
  • Highly motivated and ambitious, excellent communication skills, creative & critical thinker
  • Continual learning and improvement in the understanding of software capabilities and programming languages is essential
