Job location: Nashville, TN (preferred) or Columbus, OH (both locations would be for on site work)
The Senior APIM / CXI Engineer will support customer-facing integration initiatives within the CXI domain while
also contributing to broader API platform efforts.
This role will split time between customer-driven
integration work and Azure API Management (APIM) responsibilities,
including potential involvement in the Gigawatt.ai API service build-out.
The ideal candidate is hands-on with APIM and
experienced in supporting customer-facing APIs and integrations, with
the ability to operate across multiple work streams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design
and implement APIs using Azure API Management (APIM) for
customer-facing use cases
- Support CXI (Customer Experience Integration) initiatives, enabling
seamless integration across customer platforms and services
- Collaborate
with business and product teams to translate customer requirements into
scalable API solutions
- Contribute
to Gigawatt API service build-out as needed
- Implement
API policies (security, throttling, transformation, routing)
- Support
API lifecycle management: design, versioning, publishing, and governance
- Ensure
APIs meet performance, scalability, and security standards
- Work across multiple initiatives, balancing CXI
priorities and platform work
Requirements
Required Qualifications (Must-Have):
- Strong
hands-on experience with Azure API Management (APIM)
- Experience
building and supporting customer-facing APIs / integrations
- Solid
understanding of RESTful API design and integration patterns
- Experience
with API security (OAuth2, JWT, rate limiting)
- Ability
to work across multiple workstreams and stakeholders
- Strong
communication skills with both technical and business teams
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have):
- Experience
with customer experience platforms / CX systems integration
- Exposure
to event-driven architecture (Kafka, streaming)
- Experience
supporting large-scale enterprise API ecosystems
- Familiarity
with energy/utilities domain or similar large enterprise
environments
- Experience
contributing to greenfield API platform build-outs
- Familiar
with Utilities companies.
