The Role
Design, build, and operate an internal API platform across Kubernetes and cloud environments. Define API standards, automate onboarding, enforce governance, implement security (OAuth2/OIDC/JWT), establish GitOps and CI/CD pipelines, drive observability, and enable engineering teams through documentation and support.
Summary Generated by Built In
We're looking for someone with real production scars — commercial Kubernetes experience running at scale, years spent in the API space, and cloud knowledge earned through hands-on delivery, not just certifications.
You'll be joining a Platform Engineering team in a global automotive company that is building the internal API platform used by engineering teams across the organization — enabling self-service, enforcing governance, and ensuring reliability across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Design, build, and operate API platform capabilities across Kubernetes and cloud environments.
- Define API standards and automate onboarding — enforce governance across engineering, DevOps, and security teams.
- Establish GitOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines for declarative configuration and API lifecycle management.
- Implement security and traffic policies — OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, rate-limiting, and traffic management.
- Drive observability and platform reliability — monitoring, distributed tracing, and alerting at scale.
- Enable internal engineering teams through documentation, support, and hands-on enablement.
- Contribute to the evolution of DevOps practices — automation and reliability engineering are in your DNA.
Requirements
- 10+ years of commercial experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or infrastructure.
- Deep, commercial hands-on Kubernetes experience — full ecosystem, production scale. CKAD/CKA is a nice credential, but what matters is what you've actually built and operated.
- Several years working in the API space — design, versioning, security, traffic management, developer experience, and operations.
- Genuine DevOps background — you've built or managed parts of a DevOps practice at a previous organization, not just inherited one.
- Solid, commercial AWS and/or Azure experience — you understand how services work under the hood. Cloud certs welcome, but commercial delivery is what counts.
- Deep knowledge of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and JWT in real-world API architectures.
- Strong scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash, or similar.
TECH STACK:
Kubernetes · AWS · Azure · Terraform · Helm · GitOps · OAuth2 / OIDC / JWT · Python / Bash · CI/CD
NICE TO HAVE:
Kong Gateway · Kong Konnect · Kong Dev Portal · Insomnia · Distributed Tracing · Multi-cloud
Benefits
- A great possibility to grow your carrer.
- Insurance package: life insurance, health insurance, pension plan.
- Meal allowance – 350 PLN per month.
- Car leasing program with attractive employee discounts.
- Access to training opportunities – both technical and focused on organizational culture and best practices (e.g., continuous improvement, effective management, and process optimization).
Skills Required
- 10+ years commercial experience in software, platform, or infrastructure engineering
- Deep, commercial hands-on Kubernetes experience at production scale
- Several years working in the API space (design, versioning, security, traffic management, developer experience, operations)
- Genuine DevOps background; built or managed parts of a DevOps practice
- Commercial AWS and/or Azure experience
- Deep knowledge of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and JWT in API architectures
- Strong scripting and automation skills in Python or Bash
- Experience establishing GitOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with Terraform
- Experience with Helm
- Experience with monitoring, observability, distributed tracing, and alerting at scale
- CI/CD tooling and pipeline management experience
- CKAD/CKA certification
- Experience with Kong Gateway, Kong Konnect, Kong Dev Portal
- Experience with Insomnia (API tooling)
- Multi-cloud experience beyond a single provider
