The Senior API Integration Engineer will play a key role in supporting and advancing ABC Fitness Solutions’ suite of API offerings, including Glofox, Ignite, Trainerize, Commerce, and Gymsales. This role will focus on ensuring seamless integrations between ABC products and third-party systems while providing technical guidance to customers and partners. The engineer will collaborate cross-functionally with internal engineering teams, customer success, and integration partners across the globe.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert for ABC’s API and Webhook products, ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient integrations with external systems.
- Collaborate directly with customers and integration partners to troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance API- and Webhook-based integrations.
- Design, test, and document new API and Webhook workflows using tools such as Postman and API automation frameworks.
- Support authentication schemes and ensure secure data transmission between systems (e.g., OAuth 2.0, API keys, JWT).
- Partner with internal product and engineering teams to identify and resolve API or Webhook issues, escalate complex problems, and contribute to product improvements.
- Monitor and maintain existing integrations to ensure system stability and performance.
- Provide technical feedback and recommendations to improve the developer experience and integration documentation.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts to automate testing, deployment, and validation of APIs.
- Coach and mentor teams on RESTful API design principles and best practices, ensuring consistency in standards across both API and Webhook implementations.
- Maintain strong communication with global stakeholders and customers, providing timely updates and detailed technical insights.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 5–8 years of experience in API and Webhook development, integration, or related engineering roles.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with global customers and partners.
- Demonstrated experience using API and Webhook testing tools such as Postman and test automation frameworks.
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, Webhook architectures, authentication protocols (OAuth 2.0, JWT, API keys), and error handling best practices.
- Familiarity with modern integration and event-driven technologies such as Kafka, AWS SNS/SQS, and API management tools (Gravitee, Kong, Apigee, or AWS API Gateway) preferred.
- Experience with integration billing systems such as Chargebee is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
