Senior Android Engineer

Location Details: India, Remote

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.

• GoDaddy Studio (Formerly Over Graphic Design App) - iOS, Android: Our Award-winning graphic design app
• GoDaddy App: POS & Tap to Pay – iOS, Android: Use the GoDaddy Mobile App as your point of sale and take all types of payments, including credit, debit, Apple Pay and Google Payments
• SmartLine – iOS, Android: Get a second phone number for your business calls & texts
• GoDaddy Conversations – iOS, Android: Single place to communicate with your customers on multiple channels (Website communication, Facebook & Instagram messengers, SMS, Voice, etc.)

What you'll get to do...

• Contribute to our Android mobile application(s) using Kotlin to deliver compelling user experiences
• Understand the nuances between mobile platforms and provide advice and mentorship to other developers on handling those nuances
• Participate in planning, architectural discussion, implementation and maintenance of mobile applications
• Apply Agile approaches to software development
• Be accountable for code quality by writing unit, integration, and automation tests
• Help and advice in the selection of the most appropriate frameworks to use with the product
• Contribute to Open-Source projects related to the tech stack and domain of our products
• Perform code reviews to suggest, encourage, and support coding best-practices

Your experience should include...

• 4+ years of professional mobile Android development experience
• Strong knowledge of Kotlin and the Android SDK
• Deep understanding of design patterns and how they can be applied to mobile development
• Experience in debugging mobile applications.
• Knowledge in writing automated tests using mocked data
• Experience working in an Agile team environment
• Proficient English skills - both verbal and written

You might also have...

• Experience with reactive programming, dependency injection techniques, MVI/MVVM architecture pattern
• Familiarity with Jetpack libraries and tools such as AndroidX, LiveData, Data Binding, Flow, and Navigation
• Functional state management
• Graphics related experience — working with Canvas API, bitmaps, shaders etc.
• MediaCodec, OpenGL, or other low-level video and graphics experience
