Senior Android Engineer, Payments

We are looking for an experienced Android Engineer to join our Payments team and help us revolutionize the way people move around cities by building secure, seamless, and efficient payment experiences directly within our consumer-facing applications. As a key member of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to design, develop, and maintain the core payment technology that powers millions of transactions globally for our users. With our rapid global expansion, you’ll play a vital role in crafting highly scalable payment architecture systems that can process a massive volume of requests originating from our consumer apps. You will also enhance our suite of operational tools to ensure our distributed workforce can effectively manage financial transactions and troubleshoot payment-related tasks within the consumer app ecosystem. What you will do:

• Identify, define, and solve strategically essential technical problems within the payments domain, including architecting and building highly scalable foundational payment platforms, leading new payment product initiatives, and revamping core application payment experiences.

• Scrutinize and reason clearly about the technology and architecture choices we make for payment systems. In many cases, you will be the decider of these decisions.

• Lead the cross-functional collaboration with PMs, Engineers, Design, Data Scientists, Research, and Operations teams, specifically focusing on payment-related features and integrations.

• Mentor and lead other engineers on the team, particularly in best practices for secure and efficient payment implementations. Identify and develop future leaders.

• Advise Lime’s leadership team on key technology adoption and process improvements related to payments and financial operations.

• Contribute to shaping overall engineering culture at the company, with an emphasis on reliability and security in payment development.

About you:

• 6+ years of industry professional software development experience, and a track record of building impactful products or systems.

• Strong background and proven leadership in mobile development.

• Dynamic, driven and hands-on, yet capable to multitask across functions.

• Experience with mobile testing frameworks and services.

• Experience in payment processing or financial technology. (bonus)

• Experience in integrating payment SDKs and APIs. (bonus)

• Familiarity with PCI DSS compliance and other payment industry security standards. (bonus)

• Experience with various payment methods (e.g., credit/debit cards, mobile wallets, local payment options) and related integrations. (bonus)

• iOS development experience. (bonus)
