The Frontend Platform Team is the driver for the vision of mobile development at Robinhood! Our team exists to deliver a healthy and resilient Android platform at scale.
As a Frontend Platform developer team member, you’ll be working with colleagues that have a diverse set of skills, operating across large-scale horizontal projects that drive impact via leverage. This individual will help accelerate the burgeoning team that is building the Robinhood mobile-first product! Your customers are Robinhood’s Android developers who build out our product.
We’re looking for passionate and skilled developers who lead by example, building up the product and people around them through hard work, mentorship, and proven best practices.
- Accelerate developer build, CI, and tooling workflows by optimizing existing systems and adopting new technologies.
- Ship libraries, frameworks, and abstractions to materially accelerate Android developer velocity.
- Contribute across client, server, and infrastructure layers that power customer-facing frontend products.
- Design frameworks and tools that empower developers across all of Robinhood's frontend teams.
- Drive platform-level projects from inception through implementation all the way to launch.
- Champion best practices, mentor junior engineers, and strengthen Robinhood's Android developer community.
- At least 5 years of professional Android development experience
- Proficiency with Java or Kotlin
- Motivation to improve Robinhood’s app and codebase to ensure the highest quality for our customers
- Strong product sense and ability to collaborate with Product Managers and Designers
- Experience leading teams, mentoring colleagues, and managing technical projects
- Excellent communication skills and passion for solving technical challenges
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred; equivalent training or work experience also acceptable
