Job DescriptionWe're looking for a Senior Analytics Engineering Manager AEL 2] in Servicing to join our Analytics Engineering team in London.
Wise has already pioneered new ways for people to transfer money across borders and currencies. Our customers can also manage their hard-earned money with the world's first platform to offer true multi-currency banking. Your mission is to help us build better products faster by making it easy for Wisers to make data-informed decisions.
At Wise, we work with over 200 Analysts and more than 3000 weekly active users of our Business Intelligence Tools. As a Senior Analytics Engineering Manager, you'll be crucial in ensuring it's easy to find & load relevant, trustable data quickly.
Here's how you'll be contributing to the Analytics Engineering team
People Leadership: You will scale an existing team of 4 to 8+ within the next 12 months - keeping the bar high while scaling and ensuring everyone on the team is consistently growing.
Defining & Implementing Strategy: You will work closely with the Engineering, Product & Analytics leads of the Servicing tribe (FinCrime, Customer Support, Risk) to drive the strategy for how we can utilise Data & Analytics for best outcomes for our customers.
Core Data Sets: You will play a key role in ensuring trustable, discoverable, context-enriched core datasets exist. This involves working closely with users of these datasets as well as Engineers emitting the source data they’re based on.
Tooling Evangelist: Ensure Wise stays ahead of the curve by acting as the go-to expert for new tooling like AI applications, leading its adoption and successful rollout across the organization. You’ll own metrics to track the success of this like lead time for getting new data assets live.
Best Practices Driver: Strategically assess and implement data modelling best practices within your squad, elevating our data capabilities and cost sustainability.
What do I need to bring to the role?
People Leadership: You have led teams of 4+ and a strong history of success stories coaching & developing your direct reports.
Project Leadership: You have a track record of creating & implementing long-term, strategic projects (1+ year time horizon, cross-functional).
Stakeholder Empathy: You're able to build strong empathy for your stakeholders and internal customers, proactively identifying and solving their problems.
Impactful Storytelling: Excellent storytelling ability with data, translating complex insights into defensible, digestible & actionable narratives.
Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python is a must.
Data Pipelining & Modelling: Proven experience in building robust analytics pipelines and designing effective data models.
Orchestration Mastery: Hands-on experience using an orchestration tool like Airflow.
Tooling: Able to own the roadmap for implementation of best practices regarding Business Intelligence Tools like Looker or Superset and transformation tools like dbt. Ideally you have implemented multiple tools and workflows at your previous organisations and are ready to meet any challenge regarding security implementation, technical implementation & adoption.

Base salary: £110-135k gross / year base (based on experience & interview outcomes)
