Job Description:
As a Senior Analytics Engineer at Skillz, you will play a key role in building a trusted data ecosystem, driving analytical insights, and enabling data-backed decision-making. You’ll partner with cross-functional teams to deliver clear, actionable insights, streamline reporting, and develop scalable data models that influence business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Align dashboards with updated logic and definitions; ensure accuracy and consistency across reporting.
- Audit, consolidate, and streamline dashboards to improve reliability and reduce redundancy.
- Conduct deep-dive analyses to uncover insights that drive measurable business impact.
- Build reusable Snowflake models and automate key dashboards and business review reports.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify performance drivers and share actionable recommendations.
- Partner with data engineers to improve data ingestion and schema design; with focus on performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Implements validation frameworks, anomaly detection, and alerting.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of data modeling, dashboard design, and performance measurement frameworks.
- Familiarity with data testing, alerting, version control, and CI/CD for analytics workflows.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a focus on driving outcomes.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data strategy roles.
- Experience setting up ELT/ETL flows: Snowflake Tasks, Dynamic Tables, FiveTran, Airbyte, Airflow
- Experience with Tableau, Looker and/or PowerBI
- Experience or passion for the gaming industry preferred.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Analytics, Business, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or related fields (preferred, not required).
