Job Description
Position Summary:
The Senior Financial Analyst will support the finance and operations of Brookfield Energy’s Private Funds platform, with a focus on fund operations, financial reporting, treasury, and investor deliverables. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, supporting capital activity, and maintaining strong controls across the fund structure.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, external service providers, and senior leadership, the Senior Financial Analyst will contribute to performance reporting, audit and compliance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives across the platform. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, with a strong foundation in accounting and fund finance.
Key Responsibilities
Support day-to-day finance and operations of Renewable Private Funds, including treasury, liquidity management, and capital transactions.
Assist with capital calls and distributions, including preparation of investor notices and related documentation.
Liaise with external fund administrators and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely reporting and transaction processing; respond to investor inquiries as required.
Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, supporting schedules, and tax reporting deliverables, including K-1 coordination.
Compile and analyze fund-level operating metrics, financial results, and ESG/impact reporting.
Prepare analyses and presentations for senior management to support valuations, forecasting, business planning, and strategic decision-making.
Support the annual audit process and maintain strong internal controls in compliance with accounting standards and fund governing documents.
Contribute to reporting enhancements, process improvements, and ad-hoc projects across the renewable private funds platform.
Qualifications & Requirements
University degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
CPA designation along with 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting, audit, fund finance, or financial reporting.
Experience with private funds, asset management, or infrastructure/renewables environments considered an asset.
Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting capabilities.
Advanced Excel skills and experience working with financial systems; familiarity with fund administration platforms is an asset.
Effective communicator with the ability to build relationships across functions and levels of the organization.
Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and can manage competing priorities.
Intellectual curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on enhancing processes and reporting quality.
