The Fund Administration Senior Analyst plays a critical role in overseeing all activities associated with a group of pooled investment vehicles while providing support and guidance to colleagues and business partners. The role entails ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of deliverables as well as ensuring all requirements of our internal and external customers are managed efficiently and effectively. The position will multi-task, problem solve & troubleshoot, analyze and effectively communicate. The role is also expected to interact with and manage external business partners as well as initiate and lead process improvement initiatives.
Key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
o Oversee the financial statement preparation process with all relevant parties (i.e AB teams, auditors, external counsel, fund administrator, etc.) and incorporate comments to statements
o Assist in audit coordination, audit query resolution and provide feedback on financial statements
o Communicate updated GAAP requirements for financial statement presentation and disclosure
o Comprehensive understanding of NAV calculation performed by delegated service provider for accuracy
o Support jurisdictional tax and other regulatory reporting requirements
o Ensure deliverable deadlines are monitored and achieved
o Research and resolve any identified operational issues and notify management accordingly
o Provide timely support to internal and external queries or requests
o Collaborate and communicate with team members as well as business partners
o Participate in process documentation, training, improvement proposals and implementation
o Assist with ad hoc special projects including fund launches, liquidations, data requests, etc.
o Understand trial balance activities including income, expenses (including management & incentive fees), derivative transactions, currency implications and dividend distributions
The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the hedge/private equity fund or finance industry as well as a 4 year college degree with a business major (preferably accounting or finance). Experience with a fund administrator or audit firm is preferred.
