The Role

Job Description:We are seeking a highly skilled Google Tag Manager (GTM) Engineer to join our team as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and primary liaison between the business and development teams. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the successful implementation of marketing campaigns, addressing organizational marketing needs, and managing digital property tracking efforts. The ideal candidate will also bring valuable insights and expertise to advance our digital transformation initiatives with tools like GTM, Google Analytics and Looker Studio.Qualifications:

Key Responsibilities (GTM)

  • Serve as the SME for Google Tag Manager, providing guidance and technical support to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with business and development teams to ensure seamless integration and implementation of tags, triggers, and variables to achieve business goals.
  • Design and manage GTM configurations to enable accurate tracking and reporting for web and digital assets across multiple platforms.
  • Experience working in an enterprise environment, managing multiple containers, workspaces, non-production and production environments
  • Partner with the marketing team to understand campaign objectives and align GTM solutions to meet their needs.
  • Lead end-to-end tag implementation, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  • Conduct regular audits of GTM setups for proactivity ensuring data consistency and compliance across digital properties.
  • Assist in creating data layers and ensuring proper data capture for digital analytics platforms.
  • Analyze digital property performance and recommend enhancements to improve user engagement and overall effectiveness.
  • Contribute to organizational digital transformation by identifying and implementing innovative tagging and analytics solutions.
  • Stay updated on GTM best practices, digital marketing trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Act as the point of contact for technical GTM-related inquiries and provide training sessions as needed.

Key Responsibilities (Google Analytics/Looker Studio)

  • Set up and configure Google Analytics 4 , including events, goals etc.
  • Monitor website traffic, user behavior, and conversion rates to identify trends and optimization opportunities.
  • Generate reports and dashboards using Google Looker Studio and other BI tools.
  • Provide actionable insights to improve website performance and marketing ROI
  • Track digital marketing campaign performance across Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and other paid channels.
  • Implement UTM parameters and analyze multi-touch attribution models.
  • Ensure tracking complies with GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Digital Marketing, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Google Tag Manager, including advanced tag configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Thorough understanding of digital marketing concepts, including campaign tracking, user behavior analysis, and conversion optimization.
  • Strong technical proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS as they relate to GTM implementation.
  • Experience working with web analytics platforms such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or similar tools.
  • Experience with Dashboard platforms such as Looker Studio.
  • Proficiency in building powerpoint presentations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to bridge technical teams and business stakeholders effectively.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver high-quality solutions under tight timelines.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to derive meaningful insights from data.
  • Ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Familiarity with other tag management systems beyond GTM.
  • Experience with digital advertising platforms, including Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and programmatic advertising.
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance, such as GDPR or CCPA, as they pertain to tracking and data collection.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python or other database query languages for data extraction and analysis.
  • Certification in Google Analytics or Google Marketing Platform tools is a plus.
