Role Purpose
Ensure commercial master data across Emerging Markets Surgery is accurate, complete, governed, compliant, and fit for business use. The role will manage and improve master data processes and serve as a key coordination point between Commercial Excellence, business functions, Data Management, and IT.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage commercial master data across customer, contact, account hierarchy, territory, sales hierarchy, product grouping, and other relevant data domains.
- Validate data creation and change requests, ensuring accuracy, completeness, appropriate approval, compliance, and supporting documentation before execution.
- Coordinate bulk uploads and mass changes, including pre-load validation, post-load reconciliation, issue resolution, and maintenance of complete audit trails.
- Monitor and improve data quality across completeness, accuracy, consistency, uniqueness, validity, and timeliness; resolve duplicates, ownership conflicts, inactive records, missing attributes, and other exceptions.
- Investigate recurring data issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions with process, data, and system owners.
- Maintain data governance and controls, including ownership, decision rights, approval requirements, escalation paths, privacy requirements, consent-related processes, restricted data handling, control evidence, and audit readiness.
- Provide business administration support for commercial platforms, including CRM, Power BI, Power Apps, SharePoint, and relevant master data solutions, while coordinating technical matters with IT and platform owners.
- Coordinate user access and license management, including access requests, role changes, allocation, periodic reviews, removal, authorization controls, utilization monitoring, and related documentation.
- Lead business testing and release readiness by defining requirements, test scenarios, acceptance criteria, expected results, and test data; coordinating testers; tracking defects; maintaining evidence; and completing post-release verification.
- Validate data inputs for commercial processes, including reporting, sales incentives, territory management, customer engagement, and recurring operating cycles; reconcile information across source systems, CRM, shared files, reporting outputs, and downstream datasets.
- Translate business needs into clear data, process, reporting, workflow, and system requirements, and maintain standard operating procedures, data definitions, work instructions, governance guidance, training materials, and user-support content.
- Drive operational excellence by prioritizing requests and improvement opportunities, simplifying and automating processes, reducing manual corrections, monitoring service and data-quality measures, ensuring knowledge continuity, and communicating progress, risks, dependencies, limitations, and recommended actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Management, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
- At least five years of relevant experience in master data management, data governance, commercial operations, CRM support, business systems, or data quality, preferably within a multi-country, matrix, healthcare, medical device, pharmaceutical, or similarly regulated environment.
- Hands-on experience managing commercial master data, including customer, contact, account, territory, hierarchy, or product data, with strong knowledge of data stewardship, ownership, governance, approvals, and change controls.
- Strong data-management capabilities, including data validation, reconciliation, duplicate and exception management, bulk uploads, root-cause analysis, audit documentation, and interpretation of data structures, business rules, hierarchies, and relationships across systems.
- Experience supporting CRM or comparable commercial platforms, including how data flows into reporting and downstream processes; experience with Salesforce, Master Data Management platforms, data catalogs, integrations, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, or workflow and ticketing tools is preferred.
- Experience coordinating business testing and changes, including requirements, test scenarios, acceptance criteria, test data, defect tracking, evidence, release validation, and post-release verification.
- Advanced Excel skills for large datasets, analysis, validation, reconciliation, structured templates, lookups, and pivot tables, together with experience documenting processes, data definitions, controls, ownership, decisions, and audit evidence.
- Strong business and collaboration skills, including commercial-process understanding, stakeholder management, clear communication, prioritization, independent judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex issues into business language; knowledge of privacy, information security, user access, and regulated data handling is required, together with fluent written and spoken English.
