About the team:
Execute and enhance data control processes within Clearing Risk. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure data integrity, quality, and compliance by driving enhancements in data processes, frameworks, and controls. Serve as a subject matter expert on data remediation projects and play a key role in strengthening ASX’s data governance framework. As time allows provide oversight of clearing risk exposures.
The Clearing Risk Control team is responsible for oversighting the day-to-day market, counterparty and liquidity risk exposures in ASX Clearing Houses and running default management activities.
What you will be doing:

Implement and maintain daily and periodic data control checks, monitor and assess exceptions, escalate data-related issues and liaise with stakeholders promptly to ensure timely remediation.
Work with the Clearing Risk, Data and Analytics team to define and establish new controls to address gaps and uplift ongoing monitoring of data quality.
Act as data steward for Clearing Risk data, ensuring integrity and compliance with internal governance requirements.
Collaborate with the Data and Analytics team to align controls with broader data strategy and governance frameworks, as needed.
Provide SME input on Critical Data Elements (CDEs) and data remediation initiatives.
Test data controls to validate operational effectiveness.
Support the Manager, Clearing Risk Control in monitoring clearing risk exposures.
Promote data literacy and best practices within the Clearing Risk function.
What you will bring:
Must have
Tertiary qualification in Finance, Risk Management, Data Analytics, or related field.
Strong understanding of data risk governance and control frameworks.
Hands-on experience in data control execution, testing, and issue management.
Familiarity with data remediation processes and root cause analysis.
Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience in financial services or risk management functions.
Nice to have:
Knowledge of clearing risk, ASX products, and Australian financial markets.
Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
Proficiency in data tools (e.g., SQL, Excel; Tableau).
