Job Description SummaryAbout This Role
Government contracts demand precision — and the people who manage indirect rate compliance are the ones who make it possible. As a Senior Analyst focused on Indirect Government Rates, you will own and continuously improve the end-to-end indirect rate process across two legal entities, ensuring GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy’s (GVH) government cost submissions are accurate, defensible, and audit-ready.
This is a role where your technical depth in government cost accounting directly shapes compliance outcomes. You will serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and consultants. You will partner with internal stakeholders in Finance, Human Resources (HR), and Operations, to drive lasting improvements to the processes and controls that uphold GVH’s government contracting obligations.

Job Description

What You'll Do

  • Own the indirect rate lifecycle — calculate, analyze, document, and submit provisional billing rates, forward pricing rates, incurred cost submissions (ICS), and annual indirect rate proposals for two legal entities, ensuring full compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and agency-specific requirements.
  • Build and maintain rate models — develop and enhance cost pool structures, allocation methodologies, and financial reconciliations that are accurate, repeatable, and fully supportable under audit scrutiny.
  • Lead audit readiness and auditor engagement — prepare complete workpapers, schedules, and reconciliations; serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external auditors, including the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), Department of Energy (DOE), and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).
  • Drive process improvement — evaluate current indirect rate processes, identify gaps in documentation and controls, and implement stronger frameworks that improve consistency, accuracy, and efficiency across both entities.
  • Partner cross-functionally — collaborate with Accounting, Finance, HR, Payroll, and business Operations leadership to collect, validate, and reconcile the financial data that feeds rate calculations and compliance submissions.
  • Analyze and report — monitor indirect cost trends, rate drivers, and variances; assess cost allowability, allocability, and reasonableness; and deliver clear reporting and presentations to management on compliance status, process improvements, and audit outcomes.

Who You Are

You are a detail-oriented government cost accounting professional with significant experience in indirect rate development and a track record of navigating complex regulatory environments with confidence. You communicate clearly, work independently, and bring a continuous improvement mindset to established processes.

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field — or equivalent experience (see Education note below)
  • At least 5 years of experience specifically in government accounting or government cost reporting
  • At least 8 years of experience in financial accounting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), or a related finance function

Preferred

  • Proven experience developing and improving indirect rate processes in a government contracting environment, with working knowledge of FAR, CAS, and related regulations
  • Experience interfacing directly with DCAA, DOE, DCMA, or other U.S. government agencies in an audit or compliance context
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including complex financial modeling, pivot tables, and large dataset analysis; experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Hyperion
  • Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)

Education

A formal education and subsequent Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance is nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
