The Role

About the teamYou’ll join the Finance Analytics team, which is central to Zillow’s mission of helping high-intent movers find, win, and transact on their home through digital solutions and strong partnerships. The team collaborates with leaders across Finance and Accounting to transform data from core systems into actionable insights, metrics, and KPIs that drive decision-making and operational excellence. We value creative problem-solving, celebrate our successes together, and foster a supportive environment that encourages ownership and career growth.

About the role

As a Senior Analyst on the Finance Analytics team, you’ll play a key role in shaping how data informs decisions at Zillow. This position focuses on business intelligence (BI) and data visualization, primarily using Tableau, Domo, and Workday reporting, with SQL-based data preparation in Databricks. You’ll turn stakeholder questions into clear metrics, trustworthy dashboards, and scalable self-serve reporting - helping drive operational excellence and support innovative initiatives across the company.

You Will Get To:
  • Build, iterate, and maintain executive-ready dashboards and self-serve reporting in Tableau, Domo, and Workday for Finance and Accounting use cases.

  • Translate stakeholder questions into clear metrics, semantic definitions, and curated, certified data sources to improve consistency and trust.

  • Perform final data preparation steps (“last-mile ETL”) in Databricks using SQL to shape, join, and quality-check data for BI consumption.

  • Validate data against system-of-record sources and implement robust testing and documentation to ensure data quality and trust.

  • Design and prototype Databricks-based data models for production by data engineers, supporting reporting, system integrations, and AI initiatives.

  • Support teams in preparing datasets for AI and automation tools by structuring inputs, metadata, and access controls.

  • Operate within an Agile cadence to prioritize work, plan sprints, and deliver incremental value.

  • Elevate data literacy through office hours, training, and clear, audience-appropriate storytelling and visuals.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In addition to a competitive base salary and benefits, this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.

Who you are
  • 4+ years of experience in BI/Analytics, creating clear data visualizations and dashboards for business stakeholders, with hands-on experience in BI tools (Tableau and/or Domo preferred) & strong SQL skills.

  • Practical experience with Databricks (primarily Databricks SQL/SQL notebooks) for final data preparation and transformation.

  • Strong communication and data storytelling skills, with the ability to clarify requirements and present insights to non-technical audiences.

  • Domain knowledge in Finance (e.g., FP&A, Accounting, budgeting, billing), or demonstrated ability to quickly learn new domains and apply BI best practices.

  • Working knowledge of data governance concepts (definitions, certification, lineage, role-based access control/RBAC, privacy/PII handling) and quality assurance practices.

  • Experience working in Agile environments and managing priorities with multiple stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with work management tools (e.g., Jira), version control (Git), and light scripting for analytics productivity (e.g., basic Python), while maintaining a SQL-first orientation.

  • Experience enabling AI-assisted workflows (e.g., preparing datasets for copilots or chat interfaces) and understanding of data readiness for AI is highly desired.

  • Experience with Workday reporting and familiarity with Workday financial data structures is a plus.

  • Here at Zillow, we value the experience and perspective of candidates with non-traditional backgrounds. We encourage you to apply if you have transferable skills or related experiences.

What We Do

Join our mission to give the people power to unlock life’s next chapter. Our homes are the heartbeat of our lives, and we believe that finding a home shouldn’t be so hard in today’s always-on world. That’s why we’re reimagining the traditional rules of real estate to make it easier than ever to move from one home to the next. Our journey began nearly 15 years ago with a handful of employees and one big idea: to make it radically easier for people to move. We began by helping people understand and track their homes with the Zestimate, our proprietary algorithm, and then with advanced technology and valuable connections with real estate professionals. Today, Zillow has become a household name. People are more likely to search for “Zillow” than “real estate,” and our name is often used as a verb. While other industries have ushered in a new era of convenience, the time for seamless and convenient real estate experience is now. This is our next chapter as a company. We’re looking for smart, passionate adventurers to join us as we reimagine the real estate transaction and change the way people buy, sell, rent and finance their homes.
